Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh! (NOT INSULTING ANY INDIVIDUAL KHATRIS OF MODERN DAY!) Something Daas wanted to know was from the time of before Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, why didn't the Punjabi Khatris defend Punjab from all the invaders that conquered Punjab, like the other Kshatriya Clans from outside Punjab, for example the Rajputs kept their idea of protecting their land as Kshatriya clans, so what prevented the Punjabi Khatris from doing the same all the years before Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji? On the one hand Bhai Gurdas mentions the clans of Bedis and Sodhis in extremely high respect, (for having the form of Vaheguru being born in them, not for merely being Khatri), but on the other side, "ਦਾਨ ਖੜਗ ਮੰਤੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਸਲਾਹੀ ॥੧੦॥ Daanu Kharhagu Mantu Bhagati Salaahee ॥10॥ दानु खड़गु मंतु भगति सलाही ॥१०॥ The real khatris is he who gives charitably, wears arms and remembers God with loving devotion." (Bhai Gurdas Vaaran 8 Pauri 10), so what exactly was there job if they didn't give their Shastars and doing Bhagti? Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

According to History and Gurbani mentions it too , when Babur was making his downward sweep into Bharat , the Brahmins told the population don't worry we will do maha yag and do mantar Tantar  reading which will cause all of the invaders armies to go Blind  thus no one made war preparations and put their trust in the rituas and prayers of the Brahmins , and as Gurbani says nobody was made blind : the death tolls were massive in the hundreds of thousands and the raping and pillage left devastation in it's wake . The lesson is still being ignored : tantra mantra doesn't work, only Akal Purakh's pooja  and nijbal effort ever has .

In Sri Gurbani it has been stated clearly as you have presented it (what their tasks were). But not everyone followed their jobs as it was meant, thus that is another reason why our panth came (to bring back and remind people of dharma).

The Gurus didn't come to reinforce the caste system which you refer to as "jobs".  Dharma according to Sikhi is to follow the Gurus teachings and not to create a stronger caste system.

ANd Guru ji's reply to your claim  about strength of those mantaras: Namo Mantr Mantrang . Namo jantar Jantarang. Namo Ist Iste Namo Tantar Tantarang

 

When Babur invaded India in the 1490s, the people went to the Yogis to ask for their assistance to lead their courageous resistance to the pending inhumanity and cruelty of the invading forces. The Yogis gave them the reply that this . “We are healers, we are people of peace, we will shower our blessing on all of you and we will meditate and perform Yoga. Just go home and sit in peace. We will read the mantras (buzz word of the 15th century) and the invading forces will become blind.”

Guru Nanak records this cowardice of the spiritual leaders on page 417 of the GGS. Koe Mughal Na Hoa Andha, Kiney Na Parcha Laiya. Meaning: No Mughal was blinded and none of their mantras worked. Guru Nanak took the Yogis to task for being cowardly in not providing courageous spiritual leadership. The philosophy of Guru Nanak in this shabad focuses on courage, bravery and inner strength.  Spirituality without courage is cowardice. Of what use is being pious if one does not have the courage to speak out, to take actions against injustice or to stand beside the weak, the oppressed and the needy. This is the essence of the Sant-Sipahi Sikhi of Guru Nanak and that of Guru Gobind Singh’s Saint-Soldier Khalsa.

First of all, babur wasnt the first invader, Muhammed Gazini, Taimur, n others would loot n leave way before mughul dynasty. I think because panjab was the gateway, it was harder to defend and also hindu rajas after the first  defeat just gave up.on sebsequebt invasion, they would just go into hiding or make tribute to invaders. The tribute would consist of money n sometimes the hand of their daughters. Then when mughal dynasty came, they became courtiers, so they sold out the ppl to keep their positions. Have u watched Jodha Akbar the movie? The rajput maharana partap was fighting the mughals, and another rajput married his daughter, jodha,to the mughal king to keep his kingdom. The maharana was so mad at the betrayal of his own rajputs. Also when he was in hiding from the mughals, and starving, the other rajputs wrote a letter saying, please don't surrender, you r the only one whos kept rajput anakh alive, we have sold ourselves, dont surrender.

I dont blame the ksatriyas for surrendering, the mongols were amazing horsemen, and had the most advanced cavalry. They were also brutal, whichever kingdoms did not surrender, they would burn everything down and kill everyone even the pets.
