The Christian menace to Sikhi in Canada

Who does evangelicals? The US Bible Belts.

It seems that there is money pumped from the Evangelicals from the US and they are using South Indian pastors to go to Punjab and recruit and convert local people to become pastors who will the convey the Gospel to the locals.

Yeah it's nearly all American and Canadian (mostly American). If you take a closer look at how they're operating in rural Doaba it's actually really very interesting. I've constantly said on this thread that they're gowing at a rapid pace because we, as a community, are literally too dumb to even notice their operations. We have dumbos like dallysingh101 who thinks it's all about caste (but then again he thinks everything is about caste - in his History GCSE paper at school he even blamed the Battle of Hastings on caste), and other dumbos still playing the old politics against the Hindus when, in actual fact, this is an issue that should unite all Sikh and Hindu Punjabis.

When you take a closer look at their (the Christians) modus operandi in Doaba you notice 2 things. Firstly, they have deliberately chosen not to build their churches in the centre of the villages. They have specifically targeted land around the Firnis of each village and being very careful to choose land that can be clearly viewed from all main paved roads. They have done this to ensure that the church and the large cross on top of it is the first thing that passing motorists notice when they look to their side at the village in the distance. This is a very calculated initiative by them. They understand well how the power of perception can change the whole character of a region.  They also understand that in today's buyers market in Punjab, where sellers are finding it impossible to find buyers for their land, they can very quickly, in the space of a few years, change the whole landscape of Punjab.

watch this.   this is what most punjabi churches are like

punjabi taape and giddha for jesus

you can see why these churches attract massive crowds!  they offer entertainment, exorcisms, giddha and boliyan etc    people love this stuff there.    deras offer the same package as well

you can see how the church has shaped itself to attract punjabi crowds, it gives them Christianity but dont take away the punjabism,  they incorporate it

Just took a look at those audiences in those videos.

They don't seem to be enjoying themselves. They seem to be pushed into it and you can tell that they would rather be somewhere else.

It seems to be a condition for these people to attend just to get what they have been promised.

There is no spiritual awakening, it's purely transactional.

They look very uncomfortable there and the whole program looks fake.

It won't take much to collapse that house of cards.

They won't confront you with this openly, but Christians are taught to believe religions based on Vedic traditions (including faiths like Buddhism) are ultimately in homage to Satan and the many pre-Christian demonic entities such as Baphomet, etc. There is no getting around this fact. They believe the Great Deceiver is the God we worship, and we're destined to burn in an eternity of hellfire unless we're "saved" and diverted onto the path of Christianity. Whether they genuinely believe this to be true, or it's a justification tactic for the purposes of converting non-Christians stragglers who are easy prey for these people, I'm not sure.

So whenever some chumcha Sikh community "leader" ends up promoting inter-faith dialogue with the Semetic religions, it would serve him well to realise that the people with whom he's sipping watery tea and shaking hands for a photo opportunity, believe he's a devil worshipper. If that's not enough to get through to some of our clowns, there's no hope.

Yh the whole thing just looks like another money making scheme for the pastors.

Men beautify themselves more than the women in punjab. Women there dont really go beauty parlours in the pinds, the men do.

They also have full body hair removals aswell  they wax their chests, arms and legs at the beauty parlour. My cousin gets that done.   I wouldn't be surprised if they get their butts and balls waxed at the beauty parlour.

They also get massages done there aswell   everything basically

Part of this problem in Punjab is due to the fact Sikhs are very poor, and these Christians missionaries provide financial support. And a poor man doesn't care about religion, he only cares about getting the next meal for his family.

BUT for the desperately poor Sikhs it's rooted in access to medical assistance, and to a lesser extent employment opportunities where "people know people" in these Punjabi Christian communities who can help them make a living

Agreed. And also regarding our pampered religious/political class.

It's not some overwhelming rejection of spiritual ideology

Except in the case of Jatt Sikhs. They are not converting because of caste oppression. There is something else going on there, which is that the missionaries have managed to bamboozle a few Jatt Sikhs that Christianity is the one true religion and everyone else is going to an everlasting hell.

And then when they have that one guy, he goes on to convert a whole bunch more.

Because our gianis certainly haven't told people why we should be Sikhs.

When you have a society in which 99.9% of the decent schools in the state are Christian schools, it paints a picture in simple minds that being a Christian is associated with higher intelligence

Good point. We're kind of in a vicious circle.  The Christians in the UK (and other countries) are losing attendance fast. To make up for it, they send money abroad, where their dollars go much further, educating (or propagandizing) dozens of children for the price of one in the West.

On a side note, I propose a temporary truce in all of the fights that we Sikhs like to engage in. Stop hating on Nihang, missionary, Taksal, AKJ, SGPC, sants, and whatever else. Stop arguing about the length of reharas.

Even if a fellow Sikh is doing a shorter or longer Rehras than you, at least he's doing Reharas!

Best schools are Christian + Rich western world is Christian + Nazerite gospels preach not cutting hair = Successful life.

Yeah, I think there's that, too. I'm sure the missionaries must be saying "Well, obviously God's on the side of Christianity  because all the Western countries are rich."

Which works on our people.

The question that they should ask is: "If Christianity is so great, why are Westerners leaving it in droves?"

But our people don't know that (Westerners are leaving the Church) because  they don't live in the West. Missionaries prey on their ignorance. Despicable.

in india   everyone thinks they are possessed or their husband or kids are possessed    literally everyone believes they are possessed     and the church offer exorisms   it's how they advertise their religion.

One of the main thing the pastors offer is freeing u from evil spirits    even the posters state that      that is enough to draw in massive crowds

Do you think it would be good to tell our missionaries to just sort of relax and allow some of our sants to do "exorcisms"?

At least that way, our people would remain in the faith so they can be further reached later for real Sikhism.

how are we surprised that people convert out of economic desperation or as an attempt to receive more humane treatment by the society around them?

Do you think it might be useful for some our people to forego the 10 bedroom houses, and maybe downgrade to 8 bedrooms, and use the rest of the money to help people out?
