Donations needed urgently

Waheguroo Jee Kaa Khaalsaa ! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

Sangato,

The Sevadaars of the Waheguroo! Network are making an urgent plea to the cyber Sangat for more funds to continue our sevaa. We are glad that most of our users are students, and other youth who need strong Sikh sites to learn about Sikhi, however, our demographic base results in financial problems for our network. Please visit one of our network's many sites and inquire about making a donation.

Without funds from sangat, we will be unable to carry on our current sevaa, and therefore unable to expand into other sevaas such as future live broadcasts of samagams and feeding the homeless.

Keertan.net and Ikirtan.com, two of the most popular keertan sites on the net will have to go down within a week if we do not receive donations soon.

We also host other sites such as SaintSoldiers and will probably have to suspend projects on estabilishing a Sikhi encyclopedia.

We started a monthly payment plan where dasvandh is automatically drawn from your account to provide an easier system of payment for whoever wants to donate.

Please click the image below to contribute to Waheguroo! Network and help to continue all of our programs & services.

Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa!

Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

DONATIONS/dasvand are important- but as you say most of the users may just be students with little or no income other than a student loan! It'll be Good if readers can convince parents to contribute to some of the specific causes, as the internet does provide a unique tool and there's lots of scope for parchaar. With this in mind, have u or could consider getting sponsorship from the many Sikh-owned businesses out there, e.g. a Singh in Derby U.K owns 'Panjab Times International' newspaper. (BTW they actually used to have some good dharmik lekh in there, by the likes of Subedar Dharam Singh Sujjon and PTI compiled the book 'Akaal Purakh and Science- Gurbani di roshni vich'. The paper however, IMHO, has gone somewhat downhill advertising anti-Gurmat stuff and discouraging many of their Sikh subscribers!)

Nevertheless, let's all do our little bit to help...kinda reminds me of that sakhi where the old lady gave just a few cents, but as a fair proportion of her earnings and with suchi bhavnaa, pleasing maharaaj more than a rich toff throwing away thousands!

Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

how much is needed to keep Keertan.net and Ikirtan.com up?

i signed up a few days for monthly payment but can give a one time donation as well

um admin jee. how do we find out if our donation is still continuing. like if we put $ X.00 a couple of months ago and wanted it to go every month. how do we know if its still continuing

Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

Admin Note: Due to a billing snaffu with our hosting company, we find ourselves all of a sudden in a debt of more than $1700. They unplugged the server the day they sent the notice to show us they were serious, but we managed to get it up within a few hours. Now we are hoping to raise this money over the next week before every site is shutdown.

Sewadars need to spread the word about Waheguroo.com, keertan.net and katha.net to whole world. Not all Sikh cyber sangat know much about keertan.net and so on..

In my views:

a) Need to keep in touch with sangat by sending weekly or bi-weekly Press Release of any updates to keertan.net or any other site on WN.

b) Let the donation sangata know that they are making the difference.. A couple of Testimonial emails/messages on keertan.net entrance would be great.. (like how WN sewa is helping their life)

c) Reach out to general public, aka gurdwara sahibs, SSA events and so on..

You guys need to reach out to public and rest will be fine.. Just my views on it.. blush.gif

THANK YOU to the few people who've been kind enough to donate. :TH:

We're about half way there, another few days of solid donations and we'll have our server paid off.

However... our monthly server costs are still $220.00. And we have other costs associated with live broadcasts (!), domain names, and other sevaas. So please, please consider Waheguroo! Network as a potential recipient of your Dasvandh. Thank you.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
