singhnian greet each other in playground at the end of the day with fateh then ask if they smell of the tardka they have just been cooking. We all know that cooking smells are not great when they cling ... at least we don't smell like boiled cabbage like the white women used to back in the day

If I cook desi food, I make sure I change my clothes before I step out. That wonderful toorkha aroma is quite persistent and pervasive. lol 

I remember living with some eastern Europeans a while ago, whenever I'd cook a ruby, they would screw up their face - I have to admit, even with an extractor fan and leaving the kitchen door to the garden open, the spicy, pungent aroma would still linger for a day or two (gradually weakening...)

That's the reality of it.

some of us don't have the luxury of time  what with all the multitasking hehe ... seriously we always had the windows open whenever we cooked back on the estate and did not smell like the bengalis or nigerians (fish curry)   . I even had people comment on my lack of smell ... amazing things soap and windows ...

How did we end up on the subject of Kes, which doesn't have anything to do with tarka? Does the fact that some cut their hair off mean that they also stop using the same hoods/chimneys they used in Punjab?

Not to mention the fact that Punjabi Hindus eat and prepare the same food as us.

He is clearly racist and needs to be jailed for racial discrimination.

What I agree with him on though is the strong smell of curry. I really am appalled by the lack of sense and smell that some asian desi's have when they cook strong smelling food. Do they not realise that those kinda foods were made back in the days when they or their parents and forefathers lived out in open air cooking stoves in villages or in households with alot of air circulating. Whereas these days in modern living arrangements especially in the west you are limited by a small confined space to live and cook food in so those strong smells eventually evaporate into the walls, carpets, clothes and other furniture of the surrounding space.

Where this guy has gone wrong is that he thinks all brown/asian folk cook those kinda foods so racially discriminates against them. However these days you have alot of health conscious white and black people really into soupy desi curry foods. I knew a polish white girl at work who was more into curry's than I was and would regularly cook quite strong smelling food in the kitchen.

I'm surprised people haven't twigged onto the real importance of this 'article'. I know how estate agents work and secret agreements they can make between them. I think the landlord is clearly sending a signal out to whites that the properties (and by default the areas) he deals with are for whites. It's like sending a (not so!) subtle message out there that: "If you don't like living with p@kis (by this I mean all brown folks), come to this part of Kent."

I think a lot of people are fed up with multiculturalism these days (on all sides) and would like to live in areas where they feel more at home and secure. I think the landlord is tapping into that for whites.
