I don't know why but red carrots kept coming to mind today and it's been bugging me as to why they are red in India, and if they get orange carrots or not?  Lol I know of all the things to think about gajaran/carrots come to mind ?.  So I did a search on Google, coz it's still bugging me why they don't have orange carrots in India or do they?

Only had orange carrots so can't answer.

Thank you paji, yes I only have orange either, but I wondered why our relatives only have the red ones. Could it be the fertiliser/chemicals they use that they're red or the cost?

Bheinji all colours are available in India.

Red ones are generally used in sabzi, gajrela, pickles

Orange for salad, rice pulao, chinese cuisine

Purple for making Kanji

Thank you paji, red ones I've only seen when I've been India, used in sabji as you said. Never seen orange, mind you never seen nobody have salad there.

Purple - what's kanji?

I didn't even know red carrots existed?!  lol

They do say that bright red food can be particularly good for you because the colour comes from some specific nutrient that is meant to be healthy.

Neither did I, until I went to India. That's what they say about red peppers don't they, it's better for you.

I ate some purple carrots once in India. I understand there's black carrots in Afghanistan.

Purple, oh ho, it's weird there's different colours that are more popular in other countries. But Asda, Morrisons and Sainsburys, I've only seen orange.
