Can any Sikh ever sit comfortable when such an accusation is labelled against one of our greatest Gurmukhs (who were so blessed that they authored the Truth of Gurbani)!? 

Accusing Baba Farid Ji Maharaj of being Muslim is the most vile accusation thinkable for a Sikh to read. Though to be fair to you it may be that your belief is that all religions are equal and whether one religion condones slavery, terrorism, paedophilia, genocide and misogyny is merely something that should be ignored and is perfectly acceptable to accuse Dhan Dhan Baba Farid Ji Maharaj of supporting.

This myth cooked up Mughal scribes and the followers of Jinnah that Baba Farid Ji Maharaj were Muslim needs to be destroyed. The nonsensical belief that the 1st Sikh in history (Bhai Mardana Ji) despite being the most ardent Guru ka Sikh somehow should be labelled as a non-Sikh is horrible to read (not that you have said this - but others mistakenly have). And similarly in relation to Dhan Dhan Baba Kabir Ji Maharaj who positively despised the falsehood of Islam (and yet are somehow labelled as belonging to beliefs that they repeatedly exposed as falsehoods). It's crucial we as Sikhs do not inadvertently sully the great names of Gurmukhs who rejected terrorism, slavery, genocide, paedophilia and misogyny as openly glorified in the Holy Quran.

So he was a sufi..

He would have been and is still considered a heretic (by majority of muslims) and out of the fold of islam for not following the sunnah/hadiths (in his own words he doesn't believe in islamic orthodox beliefs).

Was he a Sikh? Yes he would have come under the defination of a Sikh. All the sufi saints and hindu bhagats in SGGS Ji are not mainstream muslims or mainstream hindu's they had begun the path into forming Sikhi.

Erm, are you the same poster as @Sukhvirk76? The username is almost the same.

If so, why did you create a different account. You must know there are policies against posting using multiple accounts. And it makes locating old content of a user difficult.

I've had to make a seperate account due to not being able to log-in with it due to that one having to be connected from Facebook, and this site no longer connects with Facebook and I don't really have access to Facebook that much anymore. If I can log-in with the name @SSD, I will show that they are both the same.

Now I'm well and truly confused. Is @Jacfsing2 the same as @Sukhvirk76 or are you just commenting in general about having to make new accounts? Is @Jacfsing2 the same as @SSD?

Yeah, I got access towards it, but that was only because I had to disconnect the previous log-in system, I rarely use this account for that reason especially with and I had lost access for this account, (and I will continue with @Jacfsing2.)

Me and @Sukhvirk76 are not the same person and this is a general conversation of lost accounts and making new ones, as you can see this account isn't on quality control or banned. But I lost access so I made @Jacfsing2.

Why are you bothering with whether Sheikh Farid ji was a Sufi at some point or another?

I've explicitly ceded ground that Sheikh ji may have been a Sunni, Shia, or whatever at some point in his life. The debate question is whether  in the end Sheikh ji was a Muslim.

Well, as in most debates, things hinge on definitions.

If you define "Sikh" as somebody who has taken Khanda-bata Amrit, wears 5 kakkars, and goes everyday to a Gurdwara (defined as a place of worship where Guru Granth Sahib is installed), and reads Nitnem everyday (Jap, Jaap, Swayye, Chaupai, and Anand), then, no Sheikh ji was not a Sikh.

However, I believe the Bhagats (including Sheikh ji) were of the same basic faith as us: the path of loving devotion towards God, aka, Bhagti. As per Guru's word:

ਸਰਬ ਧਰਮ ਮਹਿ ਸ੍ਰੇਸਟ ਧਰਮੁ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਕਰਮੁ ॥
Of all religions, the best religion
is to chant the Name of the Lord and maintain pure conduct.

(p266)

Of course, as additional hukums were revealed, they were adhered to. But it's the same basic dharam.
