Interesting man

Harari is gay[35] and in 2002 met his husband Itzik Yahav, whom he calls "my internet of all things".[36][37] Yahav is also Harari's personal manager.[38] They married in a civil ceremony in Toronto, Canada.[39]

Harari says Vipassana meditation, which he began whilst in Oxford in 2000,[40] has "transformed my life".[41] He practises for two hours every day (one hour at the start and end of his work day[42]), every year undertakes a meditation retreat of 30 days or longer, in silence and with no books or social media,[43][44][28] and is an assistant meditation teacher.[45] He dedicated Homo Deus to "my teacher, S. N. Goenka, who lovingly taught me important things", and said "I could not have written this book without the focus, peace and insight gained from practising Vipassana for fifteen years."[46] He also regards meditation as a way to research.[28]

Harari is a vegan, and says this resulted from his research, including his view that the foundation of the dairy industry is breaking the bond between mother cow and calf.[4][47]

As of May 2021, Harari does not have a smartphone.[48][49

He's also one of Klaus Schwaub's Young Future Leaders, who "graduated" alongside the likes of Trudeau and Arden. These people are groomed to implant a particular narrative in the culture, and then all doors are opened to them. I was wondering who this guy was when he released his Homo-sapiens book a few years ago. He was hyped and promoted beyond measure, and for a newcomer it seemed very strange. Then a few months ago the news of him being a Schwaub graduate came out, and it all made sense.

In a 2017 article, Harari argued that through continuing technological progress and advances in the field of artificial intelligence, "by 2050 a new class of people might emerge – the useless class. People who are not just unemployed, but unemployable."[29] He put forward the case that dealing with this new social class economically, socially and politically will be a central challenge for humanity in the coming decades.[30]

Harari summed up his views on the world in a 2018 interview with Steve Paulson of Nautilus thus: "Things are better than ever before. Things are still quite bad. Things can get much worse. This adds up to a somewhat optimistic view because if you realize things are better than before, this means we can make them even better."[33]

Philanthropy[edit]

During the COVID-19 pandemic, following former United States President Donald Trump's cut to WHO funding, Harari announced that he and his husband would donate $1 million to the WHO through Sapienship, their social impact company.[61][62]

It just seems like so much hassle to ultimately kill so many people by playing the long game of propaganda, fomenting hatred, and then sitting back and watching humanity tear each other apart, you know, lol? Once you start to analyse these things with a bit of effort and logic, it doesn't make sense unless there's some hidden piece of the puzzle that only they know.

German police raid neo-Nazi cells across country

Four arrested after more than 1,000 officers swoop on homes of 50 suspects

German authorities have swooped on alleged neo-Nazi militant cells and arrested four suspects as the country pursues a forceful crackdown on far-right extremists.

In what Der Spiegel magazine called “the biggest blow against the militant neo-Nazi scene in the recent past”, the federal prosecutor’s office said more than 1,000 officers had raided the homes of 50 suspects in 11 states.

“The four men arrested are accused of membership of a rightwing extremist criminal organisation,” it said in a statement, adding that some had also received other charges, including grievous bodily harm.

Spiegel reported that one of the suspects was a non-commissioned officer in the German armed forces.

The suspects targeted on Wednesday were believed to belong to the far-right martial arts group Knockout 51, the banned Combat 18, named after the order in the alphabet of Adolf Hitler’s initials, the US-based Atomwaffen Division or the online propaganda group Sonderkommando 1418.

Germany’s centre-left-led government under chancellor Olaf Scholz took office in December pledging a decisive fight against far-right militants after criticism that the previous administration had been lax on neo-Nazi violence.

Nancy Faeser, Germany’s first woman interior minister, said when she was appointed that her top priority would be tackling the country’s “biggest threat: rightwing extremism” after a series of deadly far-right attacks.

“Our significantly stepped-up efforts against violent rightwing extremists are bearing fruit,” she said in a statement on Wednesday. “Today’s measures show again that outlawing groups can be a mighty sword in defence of our basic democratic order.”

Three of the men were detained in the eastern town of Eisenach. The fourth was picked up in Rotenburg an der Fulda in central Germany.

The three men arrested in Eisenach are believed to be leading figures in Knockout 51, which prosecutors said “lures young, nationalist-minded men, indoctrinates them with rightwing extremist propaganda and trains them for street fighting”.

Knockout 51 is believed to have ties with other far-right groups across Germany, and “at the latest since March 2020, has been focused on committing serious crimes”.

These include attacks on leftwing activists, the police and “other people that according to the rightwing extremist and racist world view of the group can be fought”.

It said Knockout 51 tried to establish a “Nazi quarter” under its control in Eisenach and last year began conducting “patrols” in which they tried to provoke victims into fighting them. Prosecutors said the suspects injured several people, some of them seriously, in such confrontations.

The group is also accused of attending protests against government coronavirus restrictions between August 2020 and March 2021 with the aim of provoking clashes with police and counterdemonstrators.

Prosecutors said 10 of the suspects targeted on Wednesday were accused of ties with the “terrorist organisation” Atomwaffen Division Deutschland. The German arm of a “racist, anti-Semitic and National Socialist” militant group formed in the United States in 2015, “its aim is to unleash a ‘race war’ in which the ‘white population’ is to emerge victorious”.

It said the group had tried to recruit young German men at universities in Berlin and Frankfurt with flyers and internet propaganda.

Sonderkommando 1418 has operated mainly as an online chat group to draw supporters for the establishment of a “neo-fascist system”.

Federal prosecutors this week reported a breakthrough in the inquiry into a 30-year-old deadly arson attack against a shelter for asylum-seekers with the arrest of a far-right suspect in the western city of Saarlouis.
