Why modern Sikhs are making the term Jathebandi as negative? Even Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale use to refer to Taksal as "Jatha". 

 

Jatha or Jathebandi are part of the Sikh vocabulary.

Jatha or Jathebandi are part of the Sikh vocabulary.

Samprda is the puratan word and in my opinion we should not lose our puratan vocabulary, just like we almost lost raag kirtan.

Brother, even though u probably did not meant to but it creates deeper divisions by saying "oh, these are modern jathabandis" but these are ancient sampardha-vaan.

The term Jatha is more puratan among Sikhs than the term sampradha. The term Sampradha you will not find in any puratan Sikh text. On the other hand since puratan times traditionally a Sikh leader has always been called a Jathedar(i.e. head of a Jatha). That's why even Taksal mahapurkhs would refer to Taksal as Jatha. The usage of the term Sampradha seems to have begun amongst the Sikhs since after the British conquest of Punjab. Before that it was always Dal, Panth, Jatha which was used to denote a Sikh group.

Akhand Keertani Jatha is divided into three prominent groups and some smaller groups. The Maryada and beliefs differ (Except for core AKJ principles like Keski, Larrivaar, Raagmala, Mool Mantar.)

GurmatBibek group is not even mainstream AKJ, it's a splinter group that's at odds with the mainstream. They have noticably different Rehat.

The term Taksal was not used to refer to Jatha Bhindrawala before Operation Blue Star.

That sort of makes sense and doesn't.

For example, for a puratan samprada they wouldn't call it Jatha but they call the head of whatever it is the 'Jathedar'.
