Hi

from personal experience, I find a lot of negativity amongst people.  (in fact, you can see a lot from just scanning this forum).

an important part of religious outlook, of an outlook of life, is joy.  we should reject all negativity from our minds, which is ungodly.

Sikhs of old have encouraged an ethos of "Chardi Kala"- which i translate as 'the power of optimism/rising up", to *always* be in high spirits, even when faced with change, poverty, torture etc

negative thoughts and emotions are like illness- they may make a person feel dull, down, weak.  optimism does the opposite.

another thing- i find that it is easy to be optimistic if i have a attitude of humility, whereas pride cause feelings of negativity.

Nice observations.

Remember we are in Kalyug, negativity is at its peak, and the worst thing is, one negative fool out of ignorance is enough to ignite negative sparks, and many others follow them as brainless lambs, who otherwise seem normal people in normal circumstances.

Real Chardi Kala within, can never ever be achieved by words nor intentions, which may turn out temporary, but by staying in His bhaana, through devotion to Wahiguru alone, the endless fountain supplier of true everlasting bliss and goodness or call it positivity.

there is nothing Ungodly or unhoni in the universe as Akal Purakh created everything in His hukam;  instead of labelling positive negative, accept all as part of the khel . Chadrikala is not optimism it is the nishaani of  knowing who your benefactor is and how It/they/she/he will always be there for you, tehandi kala is the nishaani of agianta of this fact.

if people are excessively negative they need to connect with naam

Very true.

Even the Gurus were faced with many negative situations but remained positive.

Even when faced with the largest most scariest seeming obstacles, we laugh and say, God I recognise you, it's all just you. That's the way of the Bhagat.
