VAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA, VAHEGURU JI KI FATEH

California has a decent presence of Sikhs in most bigger cities (Los Angeles, San Francisco) and across the Central valley (from Sacramento to Fresno to Bakersfield).  New Jersey - city of Carteret and surrounding areas.  Richmond Hill in Queens, NY has probably the highest density of Sikhs in the U.S.

Smaller clusters are in  Seattle, Dallas/Houston, Indiana, Chicago, Atlanta, maybe Michigan.  Western Sikhs have center in New Mexico, but also in Los Angeles.  Mid West and other lesser populated areas are much less likely.

Wow that's more areas than the UK. America is a big country. I have relatives in California.

May look like a lot, but like the o.p said they're small clusters. Whereas in the UK, Sikhs have actually large communities in the London and Birmingham area. A lot more prominent.

Most Punjabis in California drive tractors/trucks and work in farms which is exactly what they do in Punjab. It's much easier to settle down in America than the UK because the whole family plus close relatives can get a green card.

There are strong groups in the valley and coast. I don't see that many in LA, but I may have gone to the wrong parts.

There isn't a recognizable Sikh community in LA. California Sikh communities are in Yuba City, Union City, Fresno, Turlock etc. And smaller communities like Kerman and Livingston. Then in Washington you have Sikhs in Renton, Kent etc.

Small communities in Indianapolis, Colorado, Pennsylvania etc.

Only other large recognizable community are Long Island, Queens, parts of NJ.

There are sizeable Sikhs in Southern California and they are mostly business folks (no IT etc). Majority of our ppl resides in Northern California. Bay Area Sikhs are mixed of IT and other engineering or office jobs. Valley area belt starting from Yuba city to Sacramento to Stockton to Fresno to Bakersfield are folks with trucking business and farming (aka all pendu area).

if you were to move then move into the area where School ratings are high.

Gravesend used to have the largest population of Sikhs, dunno if this is still the case.
