Amritdharis marrying hair-cut spouses - <banned word filter activated> Jagmeet Singh ?

With Jagmeet Singh this week publishing photographs of him and his bride to be something struck me:   If an Amritdhari girl with a dastar started parading around photos of herself with her boyfriend / soon to be husband and that husband happened to be a fella with a jazzy b type stylized hair cut would any of us have the same reaction we are displaying towards Jagmeet ? Would we be saying "aahh...what a lovely couple" ?  or would we be saying "&lt;banned word filter activated&gt; ???".  So why no fuss over Jagmeet's bride who is not only not amritdhari but also not long -haired as she keeps it cut and styled to just below shoulder level ?  Where's the outcry ?? Doesn't anything mean anything anymore?   Does gender, money and power buy you priveledges from your faith's rules ?

somebody should explain to the two of them that amritdhari sikhs should also have likewise spouses irregardless of gender of amritdhari person . As far as his cringeworthy proposal vid shows (released today ) she shaves her pits, does her eyebrows, trims her hair also and probably her legs as she is in the phashion trade.

Jagmeet singh is a fruit and i would never vote for him.

His political opponents say he is a man of style but absolutely no substance, who will say and do anything to accumulate power.

The Sikh masses like him because he makes them feel that someone 'normal' just like them has risen to the top. There is nothing 'normal' however of being born into a millionaire doctors family and spending your whole childhood in an elite north American £35,000 a year boarding school. In that respect we've simply replaced the usual rich priviledged lot that take power for granted with another one that looks a bit more like us.

What kind of 'Amrit' was it that Jagmeet Singh took that makes him think he is above Guru ji's hukam and maryada ?  Like Trump, is it not another case of the rich and powerful thinking they can make up their own moral codes as their lust / ego desires.

Come on don’t be so harsh on him!  He’s a solid banda who is fighting for Sikh causes.  This video is all about warming to those sceptical White Canadians. PR exercise nothing more.  

As far as his partner goes who knows what conversations have taken place between the two.  Maybe she will take her Amrit from when they are officially married.  Besides there are 101 Amritdhari girls who walk around who also wax and pluck so I don’t think Jagmeet Singhs fiancé can be pulled up on this yet.  

Also are seriously going to hold his privileged upbringing against him.  He could have just chased the money and kept off the rador by being a yes man but instead he chose to be vocal about his grievances and chose to represent his community and be their voice when nobody would speak for them.

In his first ever interview when he became an MP he said he used modelling in fashion magazines as a springboard to become an MP. Two things there: They recently got engaged but he's stated they've been boyfriend and girlfriend for a long time now. Not only does that beg the question if she hasn't been able to take Sikhi on board after a few years what makes anyone think she will now but also what ego within an amritdhari man led him to chase and persue a sexual relationship with a waxed and hair-cutted girl ?   Secondly,  there is absolutely nothing wrong with any person wishing to cut their hair. That is a personal choice for each individual and must be respected. The issue however is that this man  baptised himself into the Khalsa and that Khalsa has a code of conduct (maryada). Maryada is Guru ji's hukam. Apparently he thinks he is above HIS hukam. We, as HIS sons all have a duty to pull this man down to his rightful place.

Guys secretly admire girls with open hair.  My husband always used to encourage me to leave mine open.  Uncut hair is hard to leave open without it blowing everywhere and getting untidy. 

I finally told him - they cut their hair to get that look. 

So yes- being amritdhari does mean that you have rid your feelings for a spouse whose looks match the western ideal stamped upon us by advert after advert about what looks best. 

Why don't people see it as a positive - as in a cut hair girl actually married a sikh boy

When they reject pag vale we complain - do wheres the praise now?

An apna married an apna and we are still sad.  What do we want and who made us judges by the way?

He is a good politician and lets leave up to that. They groom their lifestyle in such way in order to win votes. He is just a politician, we should not expect such people to be pious religious figure.
