Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.

I have taken Amrit 4.5 years back and tried to follow everything from Rehat Maryada. Before starting daily errands, I take a bath and do the Nitnem.

I am a software engineer and as a part of my job, I have a hackathon organized in my company, wherein we are required to work for around 24 - 30 hours continuously. I won't be able to take bath on Sunday morning in the company but can do Nitnem in the cabin through my laptop/phone.

I went through Rehat Maryada and it is clearly written there that I should take a bath before doing Nitnem.

What should I do in such situation?

At one side I feel that I should fight with the company to leave me on Saturday night, this could affect my relationship with the company and on another side, it seems washing and cleansing face and hands should also do.

So did what your saying is that your to lazy to take a bath, ok i understand. NEVER ever miss out on your bath. Ive read biographies about sants which walked 2 km just to get some water for a bath. You would be a disgrace to the ancient Singhs, you want to break maradya for maya nice dude. I wouldnt even say you took amrit, you prob took it cause of some other reason, like more money.

The only time which you are allowed not to take a bath is if there was no water, (i.e like 10 ml of water you would prob be dead though), your kidnapped and the people are not allowing you to take a bath and are giving you the water themselves, or if your in war and your gonna die. Like how Banda Singh Bahdur and the 700 Singhs were killed and torcherd, they were not given any water or food, yet they woke up at amritvela and did paath,

Obvisouly they werent able to take a bath as they were kidnapped. Now think about you people woke up at 1 o clock walked 10 km tool a bath then did nitnem. They could say OH ITS TOO FAR. But not they did not.

I feel even more ashamed about sikhi, as even amritdhai's are starting to "break" maryada.

This someguy guy who posted above has gone a little over the top imo. This is a one time situation not a guy to lazy to get up everyday. No need to blast the guy because he’s stuck in a situation and asking for help.

And to the OP no need to cause trouble at work, unless they are trying to force you away from sikhi or telling you to cut you beard or something.

We live in grist so these situations do come up sometimes. I’m not a good gursikh, but I would say ask maharaj for forgiveness. Do a panj ishnan (wash face hands, arms, feet and bring a change of kachera).

Do your nitnem. Then when you do get home, take a bath and do your nitnem again it your still feeling bad.

If your still feeling iffy ardas and Hukamnama bro.

Then you should really read/review your writing before you post. Because what you were trying to say was not clear at all to the reader.

We should all strive to have amazing jeevans and nitnems like our predecessors and mahapurkhs, but to blast someone for something so small, in their name, is not right.

Those same gursikhs you quoted would have probably sat down with the OP, shown him pyar, and lovingly guided him through this situation.

Sikhi is a very disciplined marg, but it also needs to be filled with pyar at every step of the way. Pyar towards gursikhi, and also pyar towards other gursikhs.

But even this das is imperfect, I’m also vulnerable to this type of rash righteous anger/ego. Guru maharaj sahee hovay
