Why is there a rush to put this movie out?  The producer pulled the movie the first time as there was mistakes with it.  So the movie must go through a deep analysis again before releasing it.  Only makes sense to do so.  After all its on the only Guru who can carry the soul across.

Sri Guru Nanak dev ji is the only Guru of creation and anything that will be shown on a mass scale must be perfected to the last scene.

This whole wacky idea of don't watch it if you find something offence is being ignorant.  Obviously the person making such statements doesn't care about presenting the true story of Sri Guru Nanak dev ji.  Maybe Kahn Singh nabha should have minded his own business after hindus were printing materials of how Sikhs are Hindus.

Whats up with the title as well.  Gurbani says Sri Guru Nanak dev ji is Guru Nanak.  So why didn't the producer follow Gurbani on this simple task?  Seems like very little research was put into the movie.

It's a slippery slope and the people who say it go we can fix the damage after are being totally naive and foolish , a film which diminishes and distorts Guru Nanak Dev Ji's message and status on purpose (since scriptwriters etc were employed, the producer)

Now Salman Khan and Ifhan Khan are going  to make another film about sikh history looks like it is about Komagata Maru ....so our ithihaas it being contextualised and monetised for lining bollywood pockets  yet again ... Do we really want non sikhs telling our history as they want to  rather than how it really was ?

Lol this is such a joke. People are actually getting hyped up over a movie. Why don't you get hyped up over the real thing? Listen to Sri Nanak Prakash Katha. You won't regret it or get your mind messed up by a Bollywood production.

The best way to stop this nindya would be to not go watch it. Let the movie crash and burn for disrespecting Sikhi. Hit them where it hurts, let it flop. And that is exactly what is happening, I read the movie is doing terribly and that is a good sign of our people's intelligence. The ignorant theaters will eventually remove the movie from their listings as it isn't bringing in any costumers.

Please don't take this is a bad way, this had nothing to do with money.

This was done by demands from Sikh Scholars, literally most early Birhs from the 1700's have the Manglacharans on top.

There is a standard rule, the Manglacharan would be on the right side, while the raag + mahala would be on the left side (but still lower than the Manglacharan). If you look at very old saroops, you can see this system present.

Slowly it went away as more "artistic" birhs started being scribed.

Please don't bring in other un-releared issues pls.

actually NO scholars would dare to request changing the wording of the existing Mangalacharan from those penned by Guru Sahiban themselves which is what happened , it was NOT about formatting issues of the script . . I am stating the issues that have been historically caught to illustrate the lack of sikhi in SGPC head honchos.

Yes, Guru Sahib penned them on top.

If you look at early Birhs of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, they all have them on top generally with the rule I had mentioned.

They were not mixed, bottomed, and centered how they are like current saroops and senchyia printed today by printers.

I don't care about the SGPC, but please don't call scholars like Bhai Randhir Singh (Scholar), Gyani Gyan Singh Ji Nihung, Nihang Naurang Singh (One who standarized Sarabloh Granth), Bhai Joginder Singh Vedanti, and Bhai Joginder Singh Talwara as lacking knowledge on Sikhi. They have spent more time studying Puratan Saroops than all of us.

you are misunderstanding what I am saying SGPC changed the wording like Ram Rai to suit their agenda ...I never maligned mahapurakhs and have total respect for all those you mentioned. It wasn't about positioning which is also important  but the actual Gurbani

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
