OR let's do an extreme example, during the misl period or before, let's say a Mughal/Afghan/British spy pretended to be amrit dhari and tried to enter the dals, what would have happened? I have even read examples of hogs legs or hogs blood being given before pahul to stop spies becoming amrit dhari. Then I also heard of British Indian army soldiers being given amrit where they had to promise loyalty to the British King or Queen.

I know we are not really at war, besides maybe politically, but still I am trying to think of it practically.

But let's be serious for a moment, if the panj pyarai giving the amrit at that time aren't serious with the bana rehit and are just dressing up, what are they going to teach to the Singhs taking amrit? I am sure there used to be some form of exclusivity of who could be given Pahul in the past, it was only given to those that were capable - not like SGPC....

And when I mean capable, it can also mean capable of learning. After all, sikhi and gurmat is also about learning.

I think it just depends on the person, if they want to live with the rehat and do seva in the Dal they are in.
