I want to move to London for my University course?

So im 22 years old and i am thinking about moving to London to do a postgrad course. But as a sikh girl that isnt married i just feel like it would not be appropriate. What do you think ?

It’s all about self control and being with the right sangat. If you have friends that don’t drink or do drugs clubs and all that, then you’ll be ok. 

If your own town does it, then do it at home, then you get the benefits of no bills expenses etc and you may feel safer. London is a busy city and it depends on where you live now. Will you be able to cope with the shift?

Im not worried about my self control  because im really not like that. I dont go out drinking or doing drugs. But im worried that if i do go to london , others will have the impression that im the kind of person that does my own thing and  nobody good will want to marry me.

Have you talked to your parents about this ? What do they suggest?

I think most people realize that it’s not always possible to stay at home.  For work or school, sometimes you just have to move to another city.  I don’t think anybody will think you’re a bad person.

Why would you want to marry into a family that has such ridged views anyways? If someone judges you because you went to another country to study, then they aren’t worth your time. The impressions of others don’t mean anything, it’s all about the Guru.

Yes I have they want me to get married soon and so they dont really want me to go.

And its not that i want a family that is old fashioned or traditional but i dont feel i am modern enough for modern families to want to marry me. If that makes sense?

Yes they should see her as a person, not which city she studied. It’s 2018, and if people aren’t going to venture out to study and work, then it’s like living in 1980’s, where it was strict and there was more resentment and restrictions, which affects one.

No, that doesn’t make sense.

“Modern families” don’t care if you went to another country to study. 

Just do whatever you can to get a proper education, and only care about those who judge you based on the actual content of your character, rather than other factors.

It’s very simple, but you are making it harder for yourself.
