Why do you care whether it's a "section" or a "sub-forum"?

In any case, there already is a section for Gurbani:

http://sikhsangat.com/index.php?/forum/12-gurbani-scriptures-rehat-history/

And for Bhagti:

http://sikhsangat.com/index.php?/forum/39-gursikhi-gems/

Have you bothered to look there? There's a lot of stuff there on meditation and naam simran.

I don't want it under sub-forum because simran/meditation is the whole messageof Gurbani it should be one of the first things people see when they visit or learn about Sikhi on this forum.

Gurmukh Ji I have looked at both the section the Gurbani section deals mainly with scriptures/texts.

The Gursikhi gems section is good but it doesn't solely focus on simran, techniques, and how to jap and the different stages of nam jap.

Bhakti
Simran techniques
Sikh mysticism
Books on Simran
Sants katha on Simran

What is NAM

Gurbani is all about naam simran and we need a separate section to make sure we can get our questions answered and life Gurbani

Prab ka simran sabh tay oocha

Good idea.

Guru Kirpa the amount of simran the panth is doing is really going down because its much easier to listen to katha and kirtan than doing simran.  Its hard to sit still and repeat the gurmantar because you will have to examine yourself and see what's going on in the head.

Doing simran is one of the main pillars of Gurmat that's why a separate section needs to be made to share its importance and its theory of how its done and overcoming the problems that are on the path.

Another reason to start a simran section is all the benefits of simran

Meditate, meditate, meditate in remembrance of Him, and find peace.

Worry and anguish shall be dispelled from your body.

It is easy to read books and debate because it only makes the mind stronger and gives it more energy to keep on thinking.  To still the mind the above quote from gurbani says to do simran.

Go to sikh awareness. A much better site

I'm glad one of the Sikh sites have a simran/meditation section because its the core of the dharm.  We need one on this forum, if we don't were going to get further and further from Naam then the only thing we will have is more and more arguments because are mind is not under control

Those who do not meditate on the Lord, as Gurmukh, are not permitted to sit near the Lord.

They suffer the most horrible pain and suffering, and neither their sons nor their wives go along with them.

If a Simran/mediation section is made on this forum. We collectively can do a lot of Name Simran Jaap's together

It must be remembered  that GURMANTAR  is not just a word; lying hidden behind it is the subtle form of  guru's presence     personality  soul          light   essence of love   divine glance Continuously meditating of GURMANTAR with faith and love will produce a state where the letters of the GURMANTAR "WAHEGURU" will imperceptibly begin to dissolve, melt and transform into a subtle form    - its illuminated form    - its principle form    - its bliss producing form    _ love radiating form    - life giving  force ts Naam form These divine form/force/vibrations then change into and appear as

Jingling (sounds)

limitless tinkling sound

Divine music

Just as Bhagat Kabir has said, "The letters shall perish. The imperishable  Lord cannot be described through these letters." ( 340)

Reason #7 to start a simran/meditation section on this forum is without Naam people keep on gathering dirt on the mind which only increases the ego.

Bin nāvai jag kamlā firai gurmukẖ naḏrī ā▫i▫ā.
Without the Name, the world wanders around insane; the Gurmukhs come to see this.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
