Aside from some of his Liberal views, its good to see Sikhi also spreading among other races.

Maybe in his videos, otherwise will go full SJW on people. (Which is why I mentioned I don't like some of his liberal views).

He seems like a clown - tries to act Panjabi even though he isn't then has the nerve to mock our people and culture and conflate it with Sikhi. Where's his culture? Does he even have one?

In my opinion, he's just using his skin colour and Sikhi for fame and money as he knows so called 'Sikhs' by name-only watch his videos for entertainment.

He is a good sikh because he calls out people who don't act right in a funny lighthearted way .

Why do people need to 'act right in a funny lighthearted way'? This is one of the issues we have today, especially in the west - too many people, including these so-called 'Sikhs' by name-only, are frivolous - they lack courage to be different.

Your definition of a good Sikh means very little then as this person, as already mentioned above, also enforces liberal extremist views and thinking on others who disagree with him - he's even had the arrogance to question whether someone can describe Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji in a sentence to him. Doubt he has a read a single word while he's recording himself for attention and youtube hits.

I think he has no lack of courage to be a sikh in sikhi saroop and has encouraged other kids to not be ashamed of their differentness e.g. of their kesh so I think you are confused . You sound just that racist troll on his channel , Soorma Singh's  culture is Sikhi that is what speaks to him, that is where his heart is . Some people are harsh and rude to others he however tries to gets his message across by being balanced in himself and making light of what is probably a hurtful experience for him. Being a good sikh means staying on your path even if people are basically ridiculing , abusing you for it , not losing your cool because your ego is pricked, trusting Guru ji to have your Back in life . The accusations are not backed up by a single quote/ example and yet you jumped on someone else's bandwagon just because of????

No need to be so defensive - only calling it as it is. These 'accusations' are backed up with what's seen with the eyes and the eyes don't lie. Understand?

You say a good Sikh is one who doesn't lose their cool yet when he shouts and rants in videos about trivial matters, you don't feel that applies to him? You're obviously biased about this and talking with too much emotion which makes no sense.

SIKHI is not PANJABI CULTURE it is GURMAT and that, is for the world community . So anyone who calls themselves a sikh and has some warped sensibilities that sikhi is only for people of the Panjab only need to look at history and see how many sikhs were created in other nations including Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Turkey, Sri Lanka, China, Leh, Ladakh, Tibet By Guru Nanak Dev ji himself , panj Piarey were not all born of Punjab's soil but they were reborn there.

Never disputed otherwise in my OP - if you read it properly, my point is about outsiders like him who will conflate (combine/mix) the two because they don't know the difference due to no family connection/heritage, knowledge and experience.

It's ignorance and frivolousness - living in duality so they can enjoy the best of both worlds. Jokers.

I don't know why apney who probaly have not such a strong relationship with sikhi are so determined to stomp on newcomers who are striving to better themselves through Gurmat , they do it to Punjabis, they do it to Chinese/Japanese/Burmese/ Caribeaan/African/Europeans/Latinos basically anyone who joins sikhi . If you feel a lack due to seeing others progressing don't be an A , feel the pain understand it and work on your own SIkhi. Stop being a crab in a bucket. Every pukka gursikh will encourage others and future generations , there is strength in numbers and diversity , nothing happens without Akal Purakh's hukham so get with the program.

Got nothing against newcomers from those nations if it's genuine, except those who've harmed and continue to harm Sikhs or it's natural homeland i.e. chitteh, suleh and hindus,.

Sikhs are an endangered minority and history shows that Panjabis have a right to be wary of outsiders - not thinking twice is stupidity and naivety.

For those upset about Soorma SIngh pointing out our faults as a community why are you so silent about people like Jus Reign and Lily Singh  aren't they doing the same and much worse ?

They're doing the same and more of it so they're all as bad as each other.

    • Nanaksar is not a cult, it is a legitimate samparda. However there are many offshoots which use the Nanaksar name and are indeed cultish. Many great Mahapurkhs and Brahmgyanis were from Nanaksar Samparda, truly Gyaan and Sharda da bhandaar. It's a shame people are abusing the name. Also it's worth noting many Nanaksar "Gurdwaras" are in fact, not Gurdwaras; they are called Thath - ਠਾਠ. These are more akin to ashrams and do not generally operate like regular Gurdwaras and therefore do not have a Nishan Sahib. Another one to add to the list of Canadian Nanaksar offshoots is Darbar Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji in Calagry - I think this is the Bulandpuri one. I believe this is the same group whos main Dera in Punjab currently has the tallest Nishan Sahib. Pretty cultish from what hear. Ravidassi Gurdwaras are just regular Gurdwaras which are run by the chamaar caste as Puzzled has said. They've in some way made Bhagat Ravidass Ji their patron saint given he was from the caste. Nothing wrong with it imo. The Jaikaara the OP refers to is: Bole So Nirbhey Sri Guru Ravidass Maharaaj Ki Jai. Most do the normal one too. But there's also the breakaway Ravidassis who made their own religion. They have shunned Sikhi. I don't know how many of these are in the west tbh. I was saddened on my last trip to India...was just checking out local pinds and in one of them, I decided to pop into the Ravidassi Gurdwara - there was nothing there, just a picture of Bhagat Ji. I asked an old bibi there what the deal was and she said we don't have Maharaaj Saroop, no Granthi, no nothing. This caste divide has lead to people making their own places of worship on principle but some of them are empty and these people are spiritually deprived....they honestly seemed helpless. I mean even one Sikh could at least just go and do Nitnem with them. Hopefully I'll be able to return there. Aaanyway, I think OP might actually be a troll....I mean he called Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaaj "Sikh Holy Book". And also welcome back Jagsaw Singh.
    • I'm talking about everywhere , my own cousin after money had been spent like water on her education as an engineer and her securing a well paid job was snapped up by her Hindu classmate , they even refused to come to Punjab to get their son married to her , and my army Major Mama  took that <banned word filter activated> and got her married there in maharastra . The other daughter is similarly surrounded by hindu 'admirers'. Younger sister of my childhood friend both amritdhari got her head turned by a hindu guy too , what I don't get is why would you go where people try to stop you from freedom of thought/faith/life by their very philosophy of life ? Oh well  guess it's a matter of sanjog
