ACCORDING TO SIKHI, WHEN WILL KALYUG END?

Does anyone have any information about the Sikh view not Hindu view of Kalyug? How far are we in and how long is left? What happens after Kalyug?...

Penji, I believe there maybe a slight confusion between jugs and khands here.

As humans we cannot change what jug we are in because if we had that choice we would all be in Satjug. Additionally, this age we are stuck in of "Kal" is just like any other age... with time it will increase to the point where it hits its peak and then will die and go back into "Ik".  And even as nice as Satjug sounds, it also will die and go back into "Ik", just like it did before and now we get to Kaljug. Therefore we cannot have a permanent state of Satjug, but instead a permanent state of Sachkhand. The jug is decided by Guru Ji but the khands, however, are a different kettle of fish. Of course, everything is in our Guru's hands however Guru Ji didn't say "Karamee Appo Appnee Ke Nerhe Ke Ddhoor" for no reason Ji. The reason I say this is because we can choose to indulge in kaam or indulge in bani. We can chose to indulge in ahankaar or choose to indulge in nimrata. We can choose to indulge in the world or choose to indulge in our Guru Ji. Now based upon what we choose we will progress or regress in terms of spiritual development. We are responsible for our own actions and so as we advance in our spiritual development (hopefully we picked all the latter of those 3 options) we get closer to a permanent stage of Sachkhand. The khands are the ones that we can relate to our avastha, not the jugs. Sachkhand is permanent and goes nowhere... it never has gone anywhere because it's where Vaheguru Ji resides Ji. I hope this may clear this up.

then how can the khalsa raj be described as Satyug when we all know that kalyug continues on, is it the case of misinterpretation of Guru ji's bachan or is it something deeper  than the standard description given by Hindu texts ?

As I have been taught I've learnt that Kaljug lasts for 428,000 years and that it has just begun as we are only in the 2,018th year of this Jug. After Kaljug, we go back to Satjug and this cycle starts again of the 4 jugs. In Chaubis Avtar within Sahib Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Ji, Sahib Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji explains what happens when Kaljug comes to an end. They go into much detail but in a nutshell, there is mass adharam and there is a huge battle that takes place in which the Nihkalanki Avtaar (the final avtar which is Vaheguru Ji themselves that take on a physical form) comes and destroys all the adharam and ends Kaljug and restarts Satjug. This is not to say that others are wrong and this is purely what I've been taught Ji. I hope this helps somewhat.

Personally, I've never seen any bani where Khalsa Raaj is being described as Satjug Ji but that is definitely not to say there isn't any. Khalsa can also do Raaj in Kaljug because Sahib Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji and Sahib Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji did/do Khalsa Raaj in Kaljug too. Maybe what was being said, which is what I believe so take it with a pinch of salt, is that during the time of Satjug there will only be a Khalsa Raaj or (another literal way to look at it is) that wherever there is a mass amount of Khalsa present (like a Nagar Kirtan or within the Gurudwara) for the time that it is pargatt (manifest/present) there is only truth present there. 

Edit: Sorry, I hadn't read the last few words about Hindu texts. I would say that we need not to worry about other faiths and their ideas of when an what things happen because our Guru is Pooran (perfect and complete) so if in doubt, give the Guru a shout! If we look towards anyone else apart from our Guru we are making big, big mistakes. Today we can look at the Hindu version of jugs and then tomorrow we will end up looking at the Islam version of jugs and when we go there we find that there is only one jug and there is also only one life. This will only cause confusion so it's best to stay with our SatGuru Ji.

Just a quick plug for Guest (and Sangat) Ji - Kaljug will end in many, many years from now but our short human lives won't. So the real question we should be asking ourselves is not what happens after Kaljug, but what happens after we've served our time in Kaljug? The answer to that question is that if you have done all your Guru has asked of you then you will return to your Guru and reside in Sachkhand and reach Amarpuri. If you have not, then let this be the moment we start to make changes to make sure we aren't worried about where we are going after our physical "Jug" ends, but to leave with the anticipation to meet our stay with our SatGuru forever. 

My budhi is limited but hopefully that might help Ji.

Not only serve our time in good form, but hurry to the Guru's door with our head in our hands, and kill our ego mind desire now. Die today!....figuratively.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
