Panjabi music scene is blowing up.

         In this recent decade, Panjabi music has hit a peak. I remember when I was 10 , my favorite singer was Jazzy B and his 2005 Romeo CD was a hit . He's still good but the young cats have taken over from Jazzy B , Dr Zeus , Sukhshinder Shinda , Babbu Mann , Gippy Grewal , Gurdas Mann and others. Todays biggest artist are Diljeet Dosanjh , Sidhu Moosewala , Sherry Mann , Mankirt Aulakh , Parmash Verma , Jassi Gill , Guru Randahawa , Ammy Virk , Zora Randhawa , Jasmine Sandlas , Hardy Sandhu & many others . Many of these guys average 40-50 million views each and some songs can reach 100-200 million views like US artists . This is great news as we Sikhs have made Panjabi famous , Sikhs carry Panjabi when hindoos and mullahs abandoned it and now it's GLOBAL . Now Panjabi is spreading all through out India and will NEVER die .

Also Daler Mehdi was awful with his tunak tunak garabge which had been a low point for Panjabi media. Thankfully it's over.

I don't really listen  to Punjabi music tbh I like sme of diljits songs. Some Punjabi films are good though   rabb da radio was nice

From a cultural P.R. and optics perspective, as mentioned by OP, it's a positive thing a certain aspect of our culture is thriving not only in India but wherever in the world our people reside. One doesn't have to be an admirer or even a listener of such artistes and their music to understand the big-picture, objective, cultural aspects of getting our ideas, our ways, and our language "out there" in these times when the growing global mood and desire is moving currently in the direction of erasing those aspects of our nature and being that makes us different from each other even if those differences are perfectly just and unobjectionable.

To be fair, I struggle to listen to most of it, lmao. It's just basic level stuff designed to get people dancing or in some cases over-sentimental about an airbrushed past.

What i have noticed is, their behaviour aside, the pagh has been made "cool" again by some of these singers/actors. Sardars r centre of the attraction in films, sardars r shown to be what they actually are/have been in history.

A lot of deliberate negativity and propaganda has been spread by these h@ramis in bollywood, where theyve made sikhs look like mugs/f00ls. This has had bad implications for us in the way we are perceived by others. 

Thankfully the resurgence of panjabi cinema, and new wave of hit makers in music has reversed this trend. Alot of these songs have humungous hits on them on YouTube, due to the fact that theyre mostly released on tseries label. Millions across S. Asia r viewing them, despite most not understanding the words.

For the religious or the spiritual, this gaana and nachna & tapna is most likely kaljug, but as I said it all weirdly contributes to an awareness of certain imagery or symbols that young Sikh Punjabis simply wouldn't be exposed to if the alternative was viewing our lives purely through the lens of Indian Bollywood, which enjoys casting us in the light of the harmless clown or the boisterous and unintelligent fighter for the Indian cause.

Absolutely! Another example is of that behsharam bollywood n indian media anti sikh propaganda in full works is with a new docu/film about porn star/actress sunny leone. If she want to create a film, sanu ki..... But the film/docu is titled as "karanjit KAUR". Nobody barely acknowledges her real name or even knows, but why title it as that? Her surname is malhotra i believe, y hasnt that been used in the title? Its plastered all over fb/twitter. Disgraceful.

obviously it is to tar all Kaurs with the gandigi of this 'actress'  God knows how many rapes are happening already but if it somehow becomes the case that our daughters and sisters are put at danger in daily life  then we need to shut it down
