Do you view Sikh jokes as insidious and carefully engineered way to hurt sikh identity or is it because most people think we look funny ?

Frankly any culture that spends all their time planning spouting ish about another culture generally has feelings of inadequacy in front of that target culture so this only goes to show that even though our home state has been shackled and poisoned and treated despicably they are still terrified of our potential . Remember this :

Logically he is only one man and they so many with police on their side ... but they are running scared as is the nation

No one makes these jokes in Punjab but they make these jokes in places like Delhi and Mumbai. The whole tunak tunak, chicken butter, big belly sardar stereotypes were created by those urban Sikhs. People like daler mehndi have made a living out of deliberate imitation of Sikh stereotypes to entertain the masses.

This is what urban indians find entertaining, the sikh stereotypes were created by sikhs like them, they act the way the indiasn want them to act, they deliberately live up to the stereotype
