I have for sale a Siri Sahib made by Baldev Singh Nihang & Son.

It has a 20inch Sarbloh blade with a reinforced spine. Also includes a wooden sheath miyaan wrapped in leather.

The sarbloh used is of the highest quality carbon steel which has been heat treated to toughen the blade and sharpened to a wicked edge.

This is a real functional Siri Sahib, not just a display piece.

Please contact me for more pictures/ videos.

That's a nice looking blade. Glad it's  high carbon and heat treated. Most shastar out of Punjab are very low quality and aren't heat treated properly so they're essentially useless as combat weapons.

Most people are wearing very soft iron, non heat treated Kirpaans.

Price?

Price added ji. Baldev Singh is on the pricier side for India but compared to international bladesmiths he is cheap. I commissioned a pesh kabz from him earlier this year which cost me  £180 (I got quoted £400 from bladesmiths in USA) I’m happy to pay his prices as mentioned above, the shastar are high quality functional combat weapons, not just for display.

It's a shame that most people don't buy high carbon steel swords, I don't buy  swords made in india because most of them are stainless steel (The ones being sold  near the golden temple)  There should be more battle-ready swords and modern reproductions, the only ones I seen were the Talwar on Coldsteel, but Coldsteel is mixed yeah their high carbon steel but the quality depends on each model they release, they're very good for knives but for swords it's 50/50 (I heard their sabers are good, which is good considering they sell a Talwar model) another website is Kult of Athena.

Hanji that’s very true, all shastar should be made from sarbloh (carbon steel)

Many get confused - carbon steel is basically a very pure iron with a small amount (1%) of carbon mixed in (not chemically combined)

stainless steel is used to make display swords, they would break if ever used in battle.

Coldsteel mass produce knives and swords, some models might hold up to some abuse and even cut well but not the same fit/finish and workmanship put into a handmade shastar.

I still have a shastar as pictured above for sale. If anyone wants to make an offer please contact me.

    • YES! valid points. Life is a thing which can pull people into good / bad stuff. Religion, friends, fam and society can be factors. I too went down a "Make a quick buck" routine a few years back as I considered myself in a "Hard" life. Of course no one was hurt, injured or robbed in the process.
    • Iv listened to it before  I think it's real     he starts reciting the Quran as well
    • @mods I'm not sure if this violates the forum rules. Please feel free to remove/alter if required. This is not a promotional post and I'm not affiliated with stack exchange. I've just submitted a proposal to them. Satsriakal people! I've created a proposal at stack exchange( the largest question/answer website on the web, similar to quora) to start a sub site devoted to Sikhism where people can post questions and receive answers from others. I request everyone to please follow the site to keep it active so that it can be pushed to the next stage(beta)and isn't deleted.
Please click "follow" at the below link: https://area51.stackexchange.com/proposals/122932/sikhism Once the number of followers meet the minimum criteria, there will be a sub section on stack exchange devoted only to Sikhism, which I think will be a great thing. Let's give our best to make this proposal count. Since this is a new proposal, it also lacks sample questions. Please feel free to upvote the existing questions or add new ones related to Sikhism.

    • Sidh Gohst is a Sikh Prayer... (i hope u weren't being sarcastic)? Prayer came about when Guru Nanak Ji had an assembly (gohst) with Sidhs, hence the name Sidh Gohst. The prayer is like a Q&A session where Sidhs ask n Guru Ji answers... NOW! Who been telling me to stick t learning about Sidh Gohst?? 😔
