Can you explain why do the young or innocents suffer and die in this life?

For e.g why do young kids get cancer and die early who haven't even seen life proper? Why do innocents get attacked and killed around the world?

In 1 on 1 debates over the years I've asked many abrahamic believers to explain from their point of view why it happens and they tend to just brush it off as its "God' testing us" or "God testing them (the victim)". That explanation doesn't wash with me and sounds barbaric and cruel to put innocent souls through this. Especially as that implies abrahamic God isn't treating every soul equally and chooses who is to be treated worse and better and differently from birth. While abrahamics often say their God is just God and doesn't discriminate against believers yet many in birth are already dealt a worse card than their counterparts not even given a chance to fulfill their potential to prove their devotion or rejection of their God and their belief system.

You have to ask yourself why are any of us here ?

 

The majority of us are here because of our unfinished account. But instead of clearing that account and moving on to a better place we increase that account by doing bad deeds.

We become attached to this realm and its false senses and illusions and so we get stuck in a loop –    avoe - Jaoe .

We commit karm and then that karm comes round and depending on how we react to it we either increase or decrease the account and so it goes on.  

 

Apay he beej apay he khaoe,  Nanak hukami avoe jao.

What we sow so shall we reap and within His hukam we come and go.

 

Only until we grasp the pulla of our Guru can we look up and hope for some salvation. Even then it is not an easy journey. But the important thing is you have started the journey.

 

“ A baby is born, breathes once and dies ” explain.

 

Same sort of question as the OP and the abhramanic faiths cannot explain it.

I've often questioned this to some Sikhs over the years.

I had an 18 month old toddler die in our family and it was @luckysingh99  who finally gave me some of the most profound explanations. They vary according to circumstances and karams of family members. In our personal case, luckysingh demonstrated  how the soul would have come from the heavens to take birth in a chosen house. You see, in the many higher loks(heavens), there are souls that can remain there for eternity  but have not merged with Waheguru.  They still have unfinished accounts of karams and saas, and sometimes just saas. To merge with Waheguru and enter his nijh ghar of sachkhand, they must complete the karam and saas accounts. These can ONLY be done in the manas janam we have. hence , the importance of doing japna in human life..  These souls can sometimes choose the house where they will complete their karam so that a balancing of lessons and hasaabs can be attained for multiple family members.

The chosen family is actually blessed with this seva, even though it may seem like pain and grief. The newborn comes and wipes away many karams of the household whilst living the days to complete its saas.  Once completed, it is able to join Waheguru in sachkhand for eternity and makes the final destination to home..   The parents of this child are blessed since they have done seva by helping a soul cross the complete bhavsagar to home of Satguru.

why does this matter, and who said they are innocent, just because they are children? This question is a bit niave

seriously some people from other traditions who became saintly i.e. ended their karams  have had to be born just to have amrit and leave. I remember hearing this sakhi because in this modern era there are no true gurus except Guru Granths sahib ji that a hindu sant had to come back just have amrit , once that was done he gave up his body .

from our physical level, our perception of reality, or let us say how Nature works, is quite thick.

You see all that passes away, can not be real, and so does the physical body.

Soul by itself is a changeless particle of Wahiguru, so there are no new souls nor old souls.  The body as a covering on the soul/being, does change, just like we can change a shirt. It is not necessary for the shirt to get old, before it is discarded, for it can be torn to several reasons even while being quite new...

So you see, from a higher spiritual perspective, the souls come to settle an X amount of karmas, and  move further or farther, it again depends on the karam they still have in their stock, along with the one created while having stayed on this plane of consciousness. 

So  the souls according to their destiny karmas, get a body for a particular time being. Evrything is decided berfor one is born, not that first we are born, then the destines get designed ...

No, it is not that way.  From a higher perspective, things just do not happen just like that, it would be a chaos, as if some  one is moving the strings of people´s lives according to the moods, or liking or disliking  of that being.

So we ignorant humans, and weak and limited beings, do not understand the real forces behind the events that take place in the creation,  then try to find some culprit, and as usually, we always blame  Wahiguru Akal Purukh first.

How  unjust are we with Him! 

Nobody can stay even for a second more, having finished his/her number of breaths to take, thus settled all accounts of his/her karmas for that particular life time, no matter, if one even tries to pay a billion dollar, then too we can not get an extension of a breath from nowhere.

So, while being happy and enjoying life, we should always keep in mind the divine amrit  bachans of Guru Jee, in order to fully understand what life is, and what is its purpose:

Kis naal keejay dostee, sabh jag chalan haar.  Ekas(Wahiguru) bin,  sabh dandh hae. 

Life is nothing,  but mere engagement in karmas to perpetuate our stay in the mayavee creation, but if we do His  bhakti and take shelter at His Lotus Feet, through His paviter Nam, then that very Nam, becomes our jahaaz to take us back to Him:

Nanak Naam jahaaz hae, jin chareeya se utareeya paar.

Guru Jee, right from the begining tells us: Ik Oankar  Sat Nam. The Nam, is the only changeless true eternal  Lord, rest is all koor, all maya.
