Sikh view of Heaven and Hell

This notion and concept of a heaven and hell is pretty much drilled down people from the christian perspective. Even many Sikhs foolishly believe there is heaven and hell. Due to being so coconutised and westernized. These same people usually believe in Santa and fairys also. 

But what is the actual Sikh view on this. Is it a bad concept?

Concept of a place where one is punished for wrong doings even exists in Hinduism, naraka, long before it was mentioned in Christianity.  It's not just a abrahamic concept     even Buddhism mentions it. 

Ancient egyptions even believed in concept of a place of punishment and reward in the after life. The tombs of egyptions have paintings depicting the after life with their heart being weighed on a scale.    

This is a very old belief. Sikhi also mentions a place of suffering and punishment in the next life

Well we believe that there are many paths that you could go down after death

First is that of going to hell and suffering for some period of time because you were really bad and then back into the Chaurasi lakh Joon.

Second is that Dharam Raj Judged you and you weren't bad but not good either so you get reincarnated again.

Third is when you reached a level through naam that you can escape from reincarnation and have made it past Dharam Khand and will go on as a soul as you spiritually advance to Sach Khand.

Dharam Khand is the Khand where Dharam Raj rules and where we get judged and Bhai Sahib Bhai Randir Singh hi says that Giaan Khand etc. are real places where we go to. And that is why in Japji Sahib Maharaj talks about how there are many worlds.

There is a Shabad in Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji Maharaj there is a Shabad by Ravidas ji 

Begam pura sehr ko nao

Where he talks about Sach Khand a physical places where we are with Waheguru just like in the So Dar pauri

Satsiṅg jāi kar citt ḍulāvai ॥

The one who participates in the true-congregation half-heartedly

ਭਾਈ ਨੰਦ ਲਾਲ ਜੀ : ਤਨਖ਼ਾਹ ਨਾਮਾ ਪੰ. ੧੩ 

ਈਹਾਂ ਉੁਹਾਂ ਠੋਰ ਨਾ ਪਾਵੈ ॥ (੪)

Īhān uhān ṭhōr nā pāvai ॥ (4)

Will find shelter nowhere.(4)

ਭਾਈ ਨੰਦ ਲਾਲ ਜੀ : ਤਨਖ਼ਾਹ ਨਾਮਾ ਪੰ. ੧੪ 

ਹਰਿ ਜਸ ਸੁਣਤੇ ਬਾਤ ਚਲਾਵੈ ॥

Hari jas suṇtē bāt chalāvai ॥

While listening to the celestial glories, (one who) starts idle-talks,

ਕਹੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਵੋਹ ਜਮ ਪੁਰ ਜਾਵੇ (੫)

Kahē gōbind siṅgh vōh jam pur jāvē (5)

Says Gobind Singh, goes to the hell.(5)

We have always believed well known

But we dont believe in a satan or devil.

Yeah there is no devil except our inner demons Kaam Krodh Lobh Moh Hankaar

Lust anger greed attachment and Pride

But there are Jamdoots messengers of death whose job it is to carry out punishments on us.

Satan/devil is not needed

what we call kalyug is basically what they call satan. They believe satan distracts people from god by luring people with wealth, pleasures etc. satan tried luring jesus in the garden but jesus stomped on satans head. we believe in this age of kalyug people will be distracted my materialistic things and pleasures.  difference is whenever they struggle or go wrong they blame satan, while a Sikh is told to take his own responsibility ...

Also if you believe in the janam sakhis, then kalyug personified itself in a disgusting demonic form before Guru Nanak ji while holding his tongue in one hand and his private parts in the other, he introduced himself as kalyug and said that this is his age. When guru ji asked him why he has taken on this demonic form, kalyug replied by saying that in his age (kalyug) he will cause man to become lustful and commit sexual sins,  and develop a taste for worldly things, which if you take a good look around it is very much true lol      this is no different to what Christians believe satan does 

we believe jamdoots or messengers of death punish you

We believe in realms of heaven and hell, like we don't beleive in a permanent hell but Vaheguru simply sends people there to learn their lesson then they go through the 8.4 million life forms again. As for heaven, we should be aiming for the highest realm of heaven which is Sachkhand. There are other places like amar-puri as well.

There is no Satan because God has no oppostion and besides thats what jamdhoots are there for.
