Why are we not Hindus?

It's clear that Sikhi is very different from Islam. However, same cannot be argued for Hinduism. Sikhi shares a lot with it; reincarnation, concept of Guru-student, mukti etc. Given that Hinduism encompasses various differing traditions, Sikhi can be accepted as a tradition within the wider Hindu dharma. It technically is and has been, until the British-funded Singh Sabha

You think they are same because you are trying to find sikhi in NIHANGS, and so called modern day "dont know what they're doing" Sikhs. You cant find sikhi there.....

Try reading Granth for yourself and you'll find evrything that PANDITs did was opposed by Gurus..... From AARTI to MUKTI..its not sikhi...

Just something interesting I think in Jahangir's mughal chronicles - sorry I definitely do not know what the book is called (correct me) -  he talks about how Guru Arjan Dev ji went through a Shaheedi and he called him a Hindu. Hindu is just Persian for South of the river Indus

This guy explains it better than me

hit the nail on the head. This is what Hinduism is. Its an umbrella term for different faiths with similarities that have been placed together.  I would not even be surprised if these small faiths want to break away from this Hinduism terms and be recognised as a separate faith. RSS will do its best to ensure this does not happen.

Lingayats want to break away from Hinduism and be recognized as a separate religion, but don't think the government is letting them.
