Hi all,

The genocide in 1984 is confirmed, thousands of Sikhs targeted and killed, but whats the point of talking about it today?

because the attack is still not over , just moved underground. Because people are still suffering, because not one family got justice .because no culprit even those openly bragging ever served one day in jail, because our people remember our dead , because laws  have been enacted which steals our land and properties from us ...Because the height of stupidity is imagining it can never happen again and forgetting it e.g. hamla in 1955 on Harmandir Sahib people forgot about it ....until it happened again, and again , and again

Brother how are you saying that. Do you not feel any sympathy of what happened. They tried to kill off Sikhi and do you not understand how hideous it was

our effort should be global and not just focused on this genocide, agree or nah?

it has been the diaspora has been developing a databank of eyewitness accounts , funding cases , rehab for victims, keeping awareness high year on year , countering the indian establishments' controlled stooges moves to diminish our history by 'karseva-ing' away the old history , our original gurdwarey , itihaasic buildings like thande burj , currenting Sikhs for Justice are rattling GOI's cage on the world stage

Also sikhs have carried on pushing of education boards to teach about sikhi in their school curriculums and succeeding.

all religions have diaspora doing this,

i am asking, shouldnt our focus not just be on things like freejuggy, but gloab crises which are more important now, eg. syria, compared to something that has already happened?

No not all religions do this .just stop if they did the syrians libyans iraqis kuwaitis would have been helped by them so called ummah

No hindu diaspora is helping anyone but their own caste least of all back home in India

you obviously are dead to what sikhs are doing - wake up! there is no end to all the angles we are actioning ...if you can't notice anything but prattle on and on but what about this but what about that ? I think there more than enough countries giving aid and help to syrians , libyans, iraqis etc etc besides our own outfits on the ground
No one else cares about us to help us so don't be fooled into thinking that they will somehow come around . Maybe it is wiser to save and help our own people and lands from the pillage of our resources and youth. No we shouldn't stop remembering the past because those are our debts to the kaum we owe the kaum better sons and daughters to replace those who paid the price of being a sikh.

in the aeroplane you put your own air mask before trying to help others . We have been ordered to help our own lodwand sikh bretheren next since they ARE your family then others . Logically if more sikhs are strong and capable there are more to help further it increases exponentially . Many hands make light work

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
