good points made. some of these  Sikh soldiers families never heard back   from them , they sadly did not know if they were still alive or dead.

I've heard stories from people saying that certain soldiers (who were their recent forefathers) went back home and threw all their medals away in local rivers and stuff too.

We just simply can't look at our history, with lulloo simplistic lenses. Some of us want the truth that goes beyond propaganda. That's when we REALLY honour these men. By making true efforts to understand them and pressures they faced that led to the decisions they made - not simply 'they wanted to fight, and they loved the king/queen of ingland!'
