Who murdered prince Nau Nihal Singh?

I once read how Prince Nau Nihal Singh was crowned Maharaja of Punjab after the death of his father Kharak Singh, but after a few hours of being crowned a stone/bricks fell in his head and after a few hours he was dead.

Even then there were speculations of it being a planned murder. I think it's pretty obvious that it was murder. Soon after his mother chand kaur took over and became empress. He was 19 years old and had a son, not sure what happened to his son ...

I don't anyone ever got to the bottom of this incident though I think there was an "investigation"    I think if it was a murder then the obvious choices are either the British or the dogra brothers.

Sher Singh, his uncle? Sounds like a fishy character to me, maybe it was plotted by him because soon after he did become Maharaja. I think Sher Singh did end up getting a bit too friendly with the British.

After Ranjit Singh i don't think the raj was stable, too much drama, plot twists, betrayals, mysteries.

I don't know who it was but all I can say is don't bother asking the Metropolitan Police to solve it. My bike was reported  stolen to them in 1997 and they still haven't found the thief...or the bike.

But the Dogras were not family, they were trusted members of the court.

yeh i mean they were the most trusted WAZIRs of the darbar and Dogras were also helped by Sher Singh, Half Brother of Kharak Singh whom Dogras used as a puppet because he wasn't as smart. Back to the topic, " But some calls death of Nau Nihal Singh a Miracle Because The Chajja where he was supposed to be sitting was far away from the cremation thingy ( Cremation of his Father KHARAK SINGH ) , and suddenly it caught fire and a boulder fell on his head, he was immediately taken to his room and nobody was allowed to visit him. Eye witnesses says that he had minor injuries when he was taken to his room, But when his mother was allowed in the room, he was Dead."- Dont even remember the book name  XD.

People called it a miracle because Nau Nihal Singh was asking Chand Kaur ( His Mother ) to set herself on fire, and some people thought that its RABB DA BHANA WART REHA HAI... But it wasn't because it was all DHian singh Dogra and Sher Singh's BHAANA.

But Nau Nihal Singh and Brahmins and Dogras were  asking Chand Kaur to immolate herself the moment he set kharak Singh's Body on fire, Which she was refusing to Accept. I Think the planning was to kill Both Royal Mother-Son the same day but Chand kaur refused to self-immolate. So only Nau Nihal Singh Died that day, after whom Chand Kaur sat on the throne, but not for a long time because Dhian Singh Dogra Changed her Servants and the servants killed her by smashing her head on the wood.

The Dogras Then throned Sher singh the King, who would later be killed By sandhawalias at point blank range. and after that Only Jind Kaur and Duleep Singh were left from the Royal Family. Rest is history.

Side Note:- Chand Kaur never liked Nau Nihal Singh and she used to call him CHUHR SINGH ( sweeper ).

Giani sher singh ambala wale says sher singh was educated in a english  missionary college and thus was culturally familiar and took a liking to them

Hence his tied up beard, and the infantry uniforms, and he apparently had shirt, tie, pants when he came back from college and was beat up by the nihangs angry at his firangi bana

I think he had potential to be a decent ruler tbh. The empire was in a bad state and he seemed to be bringing it back on track again. He only ruled for around a year and a half before he was assassinated. Had he not been assassinated I think he would have been quite a decent ruler. I think he tied his beard because of the Rajput influence. He was close to the Dogras who were Rajputs and they used to tie their beards.

Kharak Singh was rubbish.

Yeah Nau Nihal Singh would have been great, he was like his grandfather, which is the reason why he was murdered.

He was murdered by the dogras. That day is quite well documented. When the stone fell on him he got up and was absolutely fine. He then was escorted to his room by servants and the Dogras. Later on in the day he was found dead with blood all over him and the servants which escorted him to his room were found dead.

Other than the Dogras and the servants who were murdered, no one knew what happened in his room.

Some British were there and they wrote that after the stone hit his head he was escorted to his room by some servants and the Dogras. Dogras then didn't let anyone in the room because Nau Nihal Singh had to "rest" after the stone hit him. Some time later he was declared dead.

Other than the British, other people present at the time wrote the same thing.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
