Never seen this custom before at a indian wedding. Must be a hindu tradition.

Omg why she slap him?  Don't think she wanted to be lifted,  and then he turned around and slapped the lady behind him, guessing that was his wife.

Iv seen a Tamil wedding where instead of putting a ring on the their wife's finger they put it on her toe instead LOL

I think he was a little to adventurous with his hands while lifting her up. So she gave him a slap.
