Indian Christians

Recommended Posts

Numbering 28 million they are the 3rd highest faith in terms of numbers in India.

Not sure how Christianity came to India. But from various articles I have read it was forced on the people by the Portuguese. These bastards forcibly converted thousands to Christianity during their brutal rule in the south of India.

You should be careful when generalising and using the term Brahmin. There are many different types and sub groupings of Brahmin. Hence its wrong to generalise the whole group based on actions of some.

Anyways not sure why you are talking about such things as this is about Christians and how they converted.

I went india last year and i saw punjabi christians in some kind of christian gathering place and the pastor and his family let us into his house and at the end of his bible katha he gave out free food.

But it was weird. He told us that he can get ghosts out of peoples bodies and that. My mom forced me to go and the pastor guy invited us to his house and he put his hand on my head and oil on my forehead and said something like "shoo shoo" to get any bad spirits out of me 😂

Also my mom forced me to go to this Narula pastor guys event thing where there were like hundreds of punjabi christians all over the place and narula was getting ghosts out of possesed people and puts his hand on them and they faint by him shouting "fire fire" again and again. I didnt believe any of it though i bet they were all paid actors and actresses, but maybe there were a few real possesed people that he didnt go by. It was crazy and kind of scary cuz there were crazy people screaming soo loud like they were possesed for real. Search him on youtube lol

When narula walked past me, my mom pushed me close to him and i got pushed back by his body guards. I think he calls them his "sevadaars" or something.

Worst trip ive ever had man.

My mom just kept on forcing me to go to these weird places to get any "bad spirits" out of me or something like that or any "jaddoo" taken off me. She kept saying ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਤੇਨੂ ਕੁਝ ਕੀਤਾ or something like that

Christianity has actually failed in India. Despite the British ruling India, the millions of £££ sent to India, the missionaries etc  with all this effort Christianity should have a massive % in India. Many countries that the brits took over ended up becoming Christian.  But Christianity never took of in India like it did in Many other countries. Look at Africa, many African countries even adopted English.

I think the reason is that they havnt indianized Christianity so it never took off.

Islam spread a lot though sufism, shrine worshipping, qwaalis etc which is very indianish

One of the methods that the missionaries try to spread the faith is by saying they can take the evil spirit out. But then again every other hindu, sikh, muslim baba claims to do the same lol.

It's odd but my dad's pind has about 5 or 6 Christian houses but they all go to the pinds ravidassia/mazbi gurdwara.  I wouldn't of thought Christians would go gurdwara.

On Christmas day they were playing a dhol and doing bhangra lol

Gurbani takes away all the bad spirits from us. No need to look for anyone else except Guru Sahib ji.

You think 28 million is not massive?

Just a note most christians in India are located near china. they also resemble chinese people.

They are concentrated in the states below.

Meghlaya

mizoram

manipur.

These people dont look Indian at all but oriental.

to a lesser extent they reside in tamil nadu and particulary goa where Portuguese ruled.

These are the real shameful ones. They look completley Indian and are a discrace.

I have met a few tamil christians where I live as there is a big tamil population here.

Silly white washed people.

For Indias population it probably is like 2%  compare that to the % of Christians in other countries that the brits ruled.

Those Chinese looking Indians are of tribal origin and were converted by the missionaries. Christian missionary influence is the worst in those north eastern states and it's worked. Wonder why ...

Maybe the tribal traditions they followed were not compatible with today's time so the Christian missionaries worked and filled the gap.

Good job they were not successful. Looks like the second wave of christian missionaries will be more successful. they probably are better and do alot of chrsitian parchaar then sikhs do.

Christianity has been present in India for nearly 2000 years when St Thomas arrived on the shores of Kerala.

It depends on the type of Christianity in India.

The first batch of Christians in Kerala were Syriac Christians.

The type you find in Goa are Catholics. If you have been to Goa, only 1/3 are Christian and they are located in the south of Goa.  They seem to be very pagan like, they almost believe in Jesus like a Murti.

The Christians in the North East seem to be more evangelical with US Christian money pumped in.

It is this particular branch that is troublesome.

india has the pre-reformation type of  Christianity, which is nasty. It does not tolerate the scriptures of other faiths. The only way to god is through Jesus
