Gurdwara Charan Kanwal (Banga)

Gurdwara Charan Kanwal in banga Nawanshahr is a lesser known historical gurdwara. This gurdwara sahib marks the site where Guru Hargobind sahib ji came and rested for a month after a battle where they killed painde khan. Guru sahib rested here for about a month along with his soldiers as well as Guru Har Rai sahib ji, Guru Tegh Bahadur ji and baba Gurditta ji as children. This place was blessed with the visit of 3 gurus. The Gurdwara was built by Maharaja Ranjit Singh.    This Gurdwara sahib is like a 5 min drive from my nanke. Not many people seem to know about it.

This Gurdwara is where my Parents and Grandparents used to go as they originally came from Banga.

While the land for the Gurdwara was given by Maharaja Ranjit Singh, the building itself was built in the 1920's I think.

is it   my nanke pind is right next to banga,   The information board reads that it was built under maharaja ranjit singh i think.   the appearance of the gurdwara is very similar to some historical gurdware in pakistan. parts of it probably been altered over the years though

Its a beautiful gurdwara so if anyone happens to be driving through nawanshahr (lol) the next time you visit Punjab then do visit.  not that far on the main road that runs through banga is bhagat singhs museum, and from the museum theres a small road that leads you to bhagat singhs ancestral pind and house.    

other than that theres isn't much else there lol

No, they are from Banga.

oh ok    i have relatives in jindowal pind which is right next to this gurdwara

i think a flyover or some sort of massive bridge is being built over  banga
