Amrit and dishonesty/fraud

Please can I have some advice. My bro in law did Amrit early this year but continues to lie and makes false benefit claims, I.e, gives false address etc.

Is this right or wrong? Has he broken his Amrit?

He has not broken his amrit. Bur t he has sinned and he will have to pay for it.

Also our scriptures say that the Guru does not help those who cheat and steal.

He does not earn honestly as taught by Guru Nanak Maharaj. What use then is his Amrit?

are you sure you phrase that correctly?

also, you mention cheating and stealing, but isn't lying also a sin?  "truthful living"?
