Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh!

Sangat ji I'm sure at least some of you must be aware how our community is being actively subjected to manipulation of our history by the so-called 'nationalists' in India, and how they want to forcefully assimilate Sikhs into the broader "Hindu" fold.

I just came across the Wikipedia page for Gadar Party and happened to see the changes that have been made over time to it (yes I do have a lot of time on hand). I saw how somebody had changed the introduction from something which rightfully associated the movement to Sikhs, to something which distributed the credit between Hindus, Sikhs and Muslims (in that order). Please look at the attached screenshot.

(The green part has been added by that user...and red part was removed)

Am I reading too much into it? (I hope it's just a bot). But then this isn't the first time I noticed things like this. How can we tackle such a vicious yet subtle attack? I have edited the article back to its original shape now.

PS!: We are actively being attacked...by the time i wrote this, the article was charged again! (Notice how Parmanand's name has been kept ahead even though I put Kartar Singh Sarabha's name ahead. )

Idk if it helps but humble request to everyone to please add this following text right at the top of any Sikhi related article you come across on Wikipedia:

[ CAUTION: Wikipedia is not an authentic source for studying Sikhism as it can be edited by anyone. In the recent past Hindu nationalists have been actively modifying Sikhism-related articles on Wikipedia to wrongly project a sub-Hindu identity of Sikhism as part of wider assimilation efforts.]

I don't have idea how Wikipedia works but I'm guessing as reactive measure, we can at least do this.

If anyone has any knowledge on the matter, please let me know. Thanks.

This is important work. I'm glad you're devoting some time to this issue. Understand that there are people who are employed full-time to carry out this subtle, barely perceptible editing of history. It's not a random act by a bedroom dwelling enthusiast or activist. It's usually an operation with a purpose directed by an official source for various reasons either to push a certain narrative or to mold a pre-existing one to a different agenda over a certain length of time.

Wikipedia is, rightly or wrongly, the first stop on the road of most people's research or information gathering, so when an article contains a certifiable factual error from what's considered to be a generally reliable source of information, if that error is not rectified it eventually becomes the new truth. That's how you change the past so that it reflects the intended future narrative. Sikhs are so incredibly behind the curve on this front.

It's a Silent War, the weapons being information, because that's exactly what's occurring in these situations.

There's a msg going around on social media about how some "sikhs" are going around pind to pind collecting guru granth sahib from gurdware that are older than 50years. These people are dressed like sikhs. Soon these same people will go around pind to pind replacing altered versions of guru granth sahib ji, I guess this is what their motive is,  unless this is all ready happening.

Pinds are always left behind, so much discord, no body knows what's going on. Some "sikh" arives in the pind wearing bana and shastars and says hes a representative, asks for all the old guru granth sahib, people believe him and hand them over. Need to keep people in rural punjab informed, can't just leave them out.   A lot of this stuff is happening.

It's not exactly hard to grow a dhari and wear dastar, people with an agenda will do this to fool everyone.

Similar thing was done, and is still being done with guru gobind singh ji. In the years leading to the partition, 30s and 40s with all the struggle against the British the the cracks appearing between the Hindus and Muslims, a lot of hindu politicians and writers started writing articles and books on guru gobind singh ji depicting him as desh bakht, placing him on the same pedestal as shiva ji maratha.   This is still happening, they make guru ji look like a desh bakht. You see banners created by hindu nationalists with images of guru ji next to images of people like jhansi di rani, shiva ji maratha etc.

This happened in Jagraon a few months back but the sangat and granthi were suspicious and refused to comply especially since all sikhs know Guru ji can only be moved with pehra of five Gursikhs , plus the fact that they wanted all admin papers and Pothian/ gutkey too. Basically they rolled up with SGPC headed paper.

Worrying thing is that there are people out there with the appearance of sikhs that are actively going around collecting old guru granth sahib jis. There motive is to collect and destroy all the old ones and replace them with altered ones.

it is the time of the Mallech Khalsa spoken of by Guru Pita Guru Gobind SIngh ji , the time where true Khalsa will be few and far between and need to safe guard the kaum's interests .

OKK , now I am p*ssed of , not because of what OP posted, BUT because Wiki has deleted the Sikhism portal.

Till a few days back , the portal was there , but it had a banner on top of it stating "This portal is subject to deletion considering wikipedia's deletion policy" . I am not sure what the policy was.

Ironically, portals on Hinduism , Buddhism , Jainism , Islam , etc etc are still pretty much alive. This IS NOT FAIR !!!

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
