I think that the first priority is tracing the saroop that was recently sold which has Guru Gobind Singh ji's signature which sold for 10Crode rupees recently and it must be returned to a safe place like where? Sgpc runs most gurudwarey

Are you serious? Can you post a link to that?

Amazing that people are willing to buy and sell such portions of our heritage.

I don't know who is worse, the seller or the buyer. Was it stolen?

What about the buyer? People who would spend money to keep something that they are not entitled to (as opposed to things that Guru ji themselves gifted to various families) and then keep them in secret as talismans of a sort or good-luck charms for their families.

Each saroop should be checked if any changes were made by the government.   If so then any saroop that has been changed should be labelled and kept away from the public because we have gullible people who would follow the changes made by the Indian government as gospel.  We already have Sikhs on this forum who take an artist imagination as gospel of how gurSikhs looked and wore.

Sure. As a precaution. But I don't think that would a major concern because you can easily tell the use of new paper and new ink and rebinding.

As for what has been returned (as per claims), hasn't the SGPC learnt its lessons yet and digitised them and made people aware of what we have?

With the tech available now at affordable prices (even if it wasn't so what?), the SGPC should digitize and also authenticate (digitally sign) everything in sight.

Granted, the Punjab Digital Library has done a bunch of good work in this area, but 1) I don't trust them--they are basically SIKHRI. 2) there's no reason that the Panth should have to fund yet another organization when we already fund the SGPC with our offerings at Darbar Sahib.

PDL is currently available for free, but you know when they digitize everything, they will start restricting access and start charging money. Why? The SGPC should do it, and then make it available either for free to all, or make it available to scholars.

Thing is masand is a high kirdaar person selected by Guru ji and sangat , this constant lambasting of our term is wrong , it would be more befitting to criticise such people as acting like MAHANTS because the only masands that were punished for their crimes by Guru Gobind Singh ji were the murderers of Baba Ram Rai. They were the exception to the rule whereas all mahants abused their positions to introdude anti-gurmat practices like murti puja, expoitation of sangat, molestation, rape even murder whilst preventing freedom of sikhs to exercise their faith's practices.

There were other masands who were punished, like the one of Sirhind who didn't speak up when chotay sahibzadhay were given their 'kangaroo court' 'trial'.

Dig out the relevant information please as I haven't read about them being punished as obviously Guru Pita ji was in war footing at the time, it sounds out of character because he didn't punish sikhs in dehli for denying their faith  but expected them to take up a second commitment i.e. Second chance.
