Guest WTH??

Please tell me you're joking? If Guru Gobind Singh Ji had to take Amrit di daat - surely there is a HUGE importance...Guru Ji - Akasl Jot Himself saw the relevance of Amrit yet here is you a random 'Harinder' who is saying it is just a 'symbol' of our inner journey.... Either you are a missionary (quite certain) or a utter tw%t!

I heard a Katha once that when Sant Attar Singh Ji's Mata Ji (mother) passed away and reached Dargaah and tried entering Sachkhand she was refused by the Peredaar Singhs. She exclaimed "Do you know who I am? I am Sant Ataar Singh's mum!" - The Singh said 'Mata Ji who never took Amrit di daat you cannot enter Sachkhand - it doesn't matter who you are. Mata Ji was given a few more days of life in which she took Amrit and then left her physical form for Sachkhand.

Another saakhi once a Gurmukh sitting in the hajuri of Guru Gobind Singh Ji was absolutely DRENCHED in love while reading Gurbani. Absolute RASS and his ehvasta in total Anand. Guru Ji seeing his Sikh reading Gurbani with so much devotion went and hugged the Sikh and said  'Gurmukha! You have given me so much peace with how much piaar and satkar you have read Gurbani! What would you like? I am willing to give you all you desire! The Sikh placed his head at the feet of Guru Ji and said "Satgur Ji if you have placed your compassionate hand on my head and offered me this opportunity then I ask for nothing but that you give me a spot to sit right next to your charan (feet) in Sachkhand so as I am never away from your Sangat even after I die."

Guru ji raised the Sikh to his feet and said I appreciate your devotion and hold respect and appreciate your piaar but this is one request that cannot be granted.... The Sikh taken aback and in shock quiveringly asked "Guru Ji why? Why do you refuse me?" Guru Ji clasped both hands of the Sikh and said placed a arm around his shoulder and said 'Puttar (son) I do not refuse you. But you have not taken Amrit di daat. Without taking Amrit you cannot even achieve the space of a needle in Sachkhand. Ask for Amrit di daat from the Panj Pyare and upon taking Amrit become a Guru wala and I will never leave you in this world or the hereafter.'

Further ANY Mahapursh in today's age will tell you taking Amrit di daat is the FIRST STEP in Sikhi. Consider it a registration into the school of Sikhi. Keeping your rehat and keeping a good jeevan (abiding the rules and living according to Gurbani and the rehat maryada) is your education and passing the exams. Whether or not we graduate from the school will be determinded in dargaah - where our account will be read.

So don't you dare belittle Amrit. If you have no faith in Sikhi and Amrit do not take the faith of others'. Remain under your rock you fruitcake.

No to future gens being saved even if they fail to Naam Jap. Wha happens is, future gens are actually Bhagats themselves. HOWEVEEERRR... YOU must reach a Sant Level yourself! NOT just take Amrit and thas it, the end. After Amrit it's Sangat, Simran, Seva and staying under Hukam. THEN future gens are guaranteed to become Bhagats themselves... (more or less).

I'll cut to the chase. To those who are Amritharis, is it true that those whom take Amrit and merge with God are able to save their ancestors and future generations (up to 21 either way). Did Guru Nanak say this and another thing is would future generations still be liberated even if they don't live a good life (God forbid).

Thank you for reading.

You know the real Amrit is within right.

The outer is simply symbolic reflection of the inner. Being amritshak was meant to be a fast track to liberation. Now it's become more of an egoistic fashion for the large part.

So if 'outer Amrit' is just 'symbolic' - explain how there have been instances of deceased individual(s) who have physically risen from death upon receiving Amrit droplets? Yes there is Amrit within us but don't you dare belittle Amrit dee Daat. You appear to one of those so called doctors/authors who read books by missionary british/white arse lickers and make out finalise as everything is black and white. Sikhi and every aspect within Sikhi is what you make it.

One man's water is another man's Jal or Amrit. You have terrible bhaag - to question Amrit - the very first step into Sikhi. I feel sorry for you.

Just to add, I’ve walked into the Gurdwarra and the gym is have literally gawked at me, or out me down saying I look horrible, I’ve walked the streets and men said the same thing either or. Amritshak guys have called me ugly, this is sexism at its peak by those who are supposed to propagate human equality, equal rights, respect and good fair treatment of all.

At at least those who claim to walk the path shouldn’t engage in these sexist behaviors and work to operate at, at least a normal level of human decency. That would be a start.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
