I'd be looking at the situation at her place of study; friends, tutors, possible romantic interest, etc. I don't think the family should be put through the wringer at this stage.

This current generation are very susceptible to image fail pressure  , it's the curse of social media. When we were kids it was just when the aunties and uncles got together that kids felt keenly critcised compared to Bittu's lad or Jasmeet's lass. We could put it behind us once they were gone and week old memory but now this kind of BS is amplified across geographic and time zones. I don't do it to my lads and when my gen fish for faults I will not engage in that nonsense -it was destructive when we were kids and it still remains so.

A gora lad in my graduation year commited suicide by throwing himself from the halls roof into the quad because he thought he had missed a question on his law finals . The sad thing was he hadn't and would have got the Hons he needed to follow Daddy.After that I swore I would never let my yet to be kids suffer like that.

I remember a similar incident happened a few years back .

A gay male doctor , a young person in his 20's committed suicide by falling from his apartment balcony because he was gay and muslim and his muslim brethren and families won't accept him for what he was ! 

Such loss of brilliant minds for no reason, except because most straight (crooked) people can't get their heads our of their a**

It's an age-old problem. "Balancing" contentment with drive and ambition / having realistic expectations but then trying to push yourself to do better. 

Does it seem like the young lady was lacking on the appreciation and contentment side of things which led her to take her own life?
