I think the main equipment is barbell and plates, mat/flooring and bench/rack. What else do you think ?

If you get into it, you can get relatively cheap 'machines' now too. All of what you said is required. Also get dumbells. Some kettle bells aren't amiss either. Get your budget together. 

You don't have to get it all at once.

The only reason i would want do weight is to bulk up, I'm naturally very slim/ectopmorphic. I have dumbbells already. 

Having read Rippetoe, doing the 'big 3' squat/deadlift/bench press are all you really need plus lots of calories. 

Otherwise, I like running (outdoors) and have a cross trainer. Is your gym properly insulated and has heating for the winter?
