because as Nanak said,

"as Nanak said"?

Are you a Sikh? The reason people are fighting with you is because they think you're a Sikh. If you're not, then just do what you want to do.

Also if you seem to be promoting treating men as brothers, could you please state your views on dating? If dating is bad, then please detail why.

I don't know if it was you that was posting in the beginning pages of this thread, but if so, why didn't you just lead with that?

Why didn't you say "treat men as brothers, women as sisters"?

Instead of saying "females can be friends."

It made people think that your real goal was to equivocate (call two things the same that are actually different). That you were trying to put "friendship" and "boyfriends/girlfriends" in the same box so that one could lead to another.

Well females can be friends. And if you treat a women platonically and with enough respect, this happens on its own. Because the first people God puts in front of us to learn to love and respect (apart from ourselves) is family. The rest of the world is a projection of this love and respect.

Hence I can eventually learn to love a random man on the street as a brother and a woman as a sister.

If youre Really a sikh, you would understand this concept.

Who is your creator and who is your real father?

Who is the father and creator of each and every human you see around you?

Hence, brothers and sisters.

"loving a random man on the street" as your brother is not the same as actually *treating* them as you would your actual brother.

yeah you can feel compassion and e.g. give them help if they have a medical problem... that doesnt mean you would trust them with your wallet.  seriously start living in the real world.

and if you teach sikhs "treat opposite gender as your sister/brother", they will just start lusting after non-sikh instead.  so you arent doing the sikh community any favours.
