Full Ishnaan after a Number 2

I’m totally confused right now after having some discussion with some Singh’s regarding having an Ishnaan before sitting on the Tabia of Maharaj. When asking for “where is it written” no one could answer the question or even provide a logic so I’m asking the sangat here to provide me some answers.

I get before sitting on the Tabia you have to have full ishnaan from head to toe. Now during Raul I’ve been told that if I go for a piss then I should do panj ishnaan. But if I were to go for a dump then I have to have a full ishnaan head to toe. I can understand the logic between the two to some extent but if I’m doing seva and decide to go for a dump, I’d have to go home to have a full ishnaan and then change into new clothing to continue the seva. Firstly where is this maryada documented and written and why can’t you just do panj ishnaan after having a dump? I know someone will come up and say oh having a dump is dirty but hey come on it’s a natural thing for all humans to do. Going to the toilet and then washing your hands thoroughly after, why would I need to wash my hair too? I don’t get that part.

If soochamta for tabia is troubling you don't do the sewa, the same rules of soochamta have been running for over 300years  including this requirement for abhilakees for amrit -full keshi isnaan and clean clothes. If you've been to the toilet that no longer is true so just take it in your stride and rebathe and change. Most gurdwarey have bathing facilities for paatis for that reason.

why are you being so western? unlike the west, most eastern countries did not have written records.  We rely on oral history and passing on our traditions generation by generation. So most people would go to taksal or other traditional institutions and learn all this. And normal people learned things from their parents or elders. How stupid it must be to write down, how to conduct oneself whilst going to the bathroom. This is taught when one is young and is a waste of paper to write down. In the west, people are looking to see how animals sit or kneel to poop to find the most optimal way for our body to #2 as they have forgotton what is natural and did not learn their cultural way.

But if you must know, it is written in the book called Khalsa Rehit Maryada by Sant Kartar Singh Ji.

Also it makes total sense to have a full kesi ishnaan, because the smell penetrates and the water we use may splash on our clothes and everywhere.

Read/Listen to Gurbilaas Patshashaee Chevee (6th Guru Sahib) - there are clear instructions about our manners and requirements whilst in Guru Sahib's Darbaar Sahib within this Pothee Sahib.

When my Dad would go for raul duty he would do the necessary and then bathe and put his chola in a bag to change in gurdwara sahib to make sure it stayed clean , never experienced an emergency in all the years he did duty . Please ask paati Singhs where the ishnan parbandh is just in case if you are having issues .
