Chest sensation throughout simran

10 mins into simran I get a sensation in my chest, I don’t know how to explain it. It’s  like something moving round in circles or a slight force pushing down.

Sometimes after a while it stops but then 30 mins in it carries on, especially when I get dhiyaan.

What is this? It doesn’t really distract me, I’m just curious.

Probably your body adjusting itself and the energy centers opening and working

When you start on the Bhagti path your body begins to change. I actually lost weight and my body became taller...

And you begin to feel a lot of sensations with your chakras moving and the shakti (energy) rising.

The sensation comes from your awareness shifting from human body towards aatma. The normal person lives in 100% human body awareness and 0% aatmak awareness. As you do naam abihyaas a shift occurs in those figures. As soon as 1% awareness goes into aatama it gives birth to shub-icha (1st stage of bharam giaan). It creates your desire to find sach and truth. You become a jagasoo (spiritual seeker) who realizes there's more to you then just this body. As the percentage of awareness in aatma increases, you travel through the 7 stages of bharam giaan.

Above process is like a tug of war with your surat between body and aatma. As hard as you 'pull' surat towards aatam, your sub-conscious is always, to a sookham degree, 'pullling' surat towards body awareness to keep the body functioning. Heart is the critical thing keeping your human body alive - hence your chest sensation.

If 100% dhiyaan went into atama your human body would vanish. It's called joti jot - the panj taat merge into cosmic material, aatma merges into param-aatma. This is how Guru Gobind Singh Ji 'went' to sachkhand.

When chest sensations happen keep your dhiyaan on middle of forehead (area between the eyebrows, where ladies apply bindi), and continue doing simran. The experience will be beautiful - just don't tell anyone what happens because you will lose it until probably next lifetime.

Dhan Guru Nanak
