It is important to me because I strongly feel shaheedi degh and shikaar/jhatka are part of khalsa rehit.

Baba Fateh Singh, the prince of the Tenth Master, adorning the attire of the Deathless approached the Guru.

Sitting at Kesgarh Sahib, the Guru looking at Baba Fateh Singh was overjoyed and remarked, “Son, a mighty warrior Panth shall belong to you.

The army will be called Akalis, the Nihang Singh Panth, wearing metal Chakars on their Dumallas [double-turbans], yelling with determination in battle.

With their adorned Farlas [Standards on their turbans], they consume plentiful amounts of Sukha [marijuana] sacrament and goat meat, ferociously reciting Gurbani in battle they split enemies in half.” 70.

i think it all comes down to your intentions!  weed can have health benefits and helps people with depression, anxiety etc  its even helps people who have epileptic fits,  iv even read how it kills cancer.  But using it just to get high/intoxicated is just wrong.  weed has been used in india for 1000s of years as medication.

RE schizophrenia.

Sukha can have very different effects on different people. Even the type of sukha can effect this (there are now hundreds if not thousands of varieties available). Some schizos can start going into overdrive with just one tiny bit of sukha and start hallucinating and hearing voices - I've seen others take it and go the opposite way and calm down.

Drugs like this effect different people in different ways. Some people have a natural high tolerance, some seem naturally highly sensitive to even minute amounts.

I'd like to see these anti sukha lulloo puppoos that hide behind gorafied protestant singh sabha 'Sikhism' 'rehat' - if they, or a close family member, or their child had some serious health condition that might be helped by traditional Indic style treatments with sukha or even afeem.

I bet you they'd jump off their high horse really quickly then.

These people make me want to vomit.

Dear dallysingh veer

U seem to be well read sikh.

Have u read Sri gur katha by bhai jaita jee? Is there any mention of cannabis/Opium and meat?

Plz share some sources that hv mention of cannabis/Opium and meat.

And what are you then? An unparh Sikh?

You should read these things yourself instead of being lazy. And when you read them, look for more than just mentions of sukha, afeem and maas. There are other important things within believe it or not. What the hell is your obsession with only these things anyway? It's getting weird? Are you a drug addict?

For me, (and no one has to agree!!) there is a big question mark on the purported account by Bhai Jaita Singh because no original can be found, and it in itself is supposed to be a translation of a work in bhattachari that no one is able to locate.

I posted most of the important early sources of Sikh itihaas (that I could find) on my scribd account - if that helps. I linked to it in an earlier post. Use it and stop asking people to read for you.
