Lack of leadership in present day Sikhi

Sikhs today don't  have not a single leader who is respected by all sections. This vacuum doesn't look it is going to filled up soon too. What are your thoughts on this issue?

We haven't had a good leader for decades now     I think that's what we need.  Someone like sant jarnail singh bhindrawale.  He was such a force that the governments feared his influence.

Precisely this. I’ve been thinking and wishing for such a leader for the last 10 years. Someone who is spiritually advanced but also can navigate the political minefield of the world. We lack unity and focus within the Sikh Quam.

I think leadership might have to be localised. The different diaspora communities live in vastyly variant environments. What's important in one town or country, for the local community there, may not be for another.

the leader is NEVER one person . the authority is vested in 'panj' , so ideally we should look for multiple people ,I mean 5 and then they should agree on key issues

Maybe its time we had a parliament type leadership model

Also each of the main communties of Sikhs could have their own leader. Ie Tharkan, Bhat, Jatt, Khatri. 

Lets face it these communities will not accept a leader other then from their own community. So we need leadership from each community who will all work togther as a whole. 

At the moment we have an issue of caste based Gurdwaras. Hence its divided at the moment. Not enough unity. 

I am not saying this is just a Sikh issue. Even muslims have alot of in fighting in thei mosques with who takes control and leadership. The Hindus meanwhile seem to be the most unified.

a panj pyare made up of different communties/castes in each country sounds like the way to go. plus it wud ensure the highest calibre is picked?

one for each town/city/region wud be too much imo n only lead to conflict on regional/national issues later. we have enough confusion/tribal stuff as it is. quality over quantity.

$ulleh have an imam for leadership/problems. they even have the power to make up rules to help those abroad adapt to the west but still practice their faith. dno how it works but the point is we dnt have any model like this within the panth.

WE NEED JATHEDARS LIKE AKALI BABA PHOOLA SINGH JI who even had that much bravery to whip Raja Ranjit Singh’s back for marrying a Muslim. Not like Gurbachan Singh who forgave Ram Rajeem
