Panja Sahib, Hassan Abdal: Real history or fake?

What is the historical source on which the Panja Sahib sakhi is based? Is there any historical sakhi or is it only a legend of oral tradition? I even read somewhere that it is the story of a Buddhist monk that people somehow confused. 

Should I believe the sakhi of Guru Nanak Sahib ji stopping the boulder thrown by Wali Qandhari with their hand? I could not find a source. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

get your hinduvta/salafi self off this site ... despite the stone being attacked by an islamic miscreant  the handprint was not defaced and the history of the place is not buddhist at all  by any leap of imagination , It is also not the only GUrdwara where Guru Nanak Dev ji was attacked with rockfalls  whilst doing bhagti  and they too have his body shape /footprints melted into this  material .

Veerji/Penji I'm a Sikh too and here genuinely asking for some help. I apologize if I offended you.

Actually the thing is even I've never doubted Panja Sahib's history. But what happened was, I saw a turbaned Sikh guy commenting on an insta post about Panja Sahib calling it's history fake (even Hemkunt Sahib). To counter him, I wanted to quote the sakhi from its source to shut him up, but I could not find it. (Of course I told him about Hemkunt Sahib from Guru Gobind Singh Ji's bani.) The things I did however find included that Buddhist thing. I read it briefly in something that looked like a research paper.

Are you Sikh? I never see a Sikh mentioned another one as “turbaned Sikh”. Can you share his posting to make sure that other users don’t see u as non-Sikh troll in order to have a better genuine discussion.

I'm extremely sorry. I meant to refer to the Patthar Sahib Gurdwara in Leh, NOT Gurdwara Punja Sahib in Hasan Abdal, Pakistan. (Can we edit the title of the thread? ) I confused the 2 because the histories of the 2 Gurdwaras are similar with both related to Guru Nanak Dev ji and both having boulders with imprints of Guru maharaj's body.

The man that I mentioned was questioning the authenticity of the history of Gurdwara Patthar Sahib even though it is not just considered holy by Sikhs but even the local Buddhists.

I called him "turbaned Sikh" to emphasise the fact that that person is doubting our history despite keeping a Sikhi saroop because I found it odd.

In fact, the guy was denying the histories of both Panja Sahib and Patthar Sahib.
