hi

it is winter now and cold.  request to adults who read this forum to find out what facilities /help are available in your local area for homeless people and also people with no money for food (food banks).

this so you can help any homeless people you see.

Excellent post, I commend you. I'm currently in the middle east and have no idea how to see how to help but I will.

Hope others can strive to help out the needy, many people out there who are struggling and in need.

people in uk can google search their local area for shelters, and call their shelters to know know how they work /how to refer people.

theres a sikh charity S.W.A.T. also in London,  not sure how they work, but they do help with homeless.

some homeless people have drug, alcohol or mental people.  so please be careful in approaching them if you do.

also in uk, if you see a homeless or drunk person on the street (and it is very cold), you can call an ambulance or police to help them.  i understand that you should always do that for someone who is not awake, even if you think they are just drunk.

Sad how the gurwarras were meant to be shelter for the shelter less, yet many gurwarras turn such people away even though there is more than enough space in them.

While there are gurwarras, these kind of things should be addressed and people such as these assisted. Food to feed the hungry and shelter for the unsheltered.

Right...let me just make a note of that so I don't forget:

1) See a homeless person

2) Call the police.

Some homeless people have mental problems too. There was a gori who got beaten by a person she considered homeless and gave shelter to.

The homeless around where I live are not mentally well  Just a few days ago I walked past a homeless man who was screaming in the middle of the high street.

You know there are a lot of people with mental illnesses out there. Seeing people screaming, talking to themselves   randomly swearing out loud   etc is a normal sight around here!     We have this one man who takes his private parts out while going down the escalator.  Another who carrys his urine around with him in a plastic cup  etc      there is this one man who just goes up and down the high street asking people if they have a lighter   that's all he does.

Run down multicultural towns are the worst ones

Government doesnt care

Then Gurdwarras should help arrange mental help. So many people, drug addicts, alcoholics too. So many people need help. Gurdwarras are there as a safe haven in the midst of a mad world.

Maybe try the public tax money funded institutions first before giving assigning responsibilities to our gurdwara sahibs. We have scarce  resources for our own folks.
