Do not say that the Vedas, the Bible and the Koran are false. Those who do not contemplate them are false.
You say that the One Lord is in all, so why do you kill chickens? ||1||
O Mullah, tell me: is this God's Justice?
The doubts of your mind have not been dispelled. ||1||Pause||
You seize a living creature, and then bring it home and kill its body; you have killed only the clay.
The light of the soul passes into another form. So tell me, what have you killed? ||2||
And what good are your purifications? Why do you bother to wash your face? And why do you bother to bow your head in the mosque?
Your heart is full of hypocrisy; what good are your prayers or your pilgrimage to Mecca? ||3||
You are impure; you do not understand the Pure Lord. You do not know His Mystery.

Says Kabeer, you have missed out on paradise; your mind is set on hell. ||4||4||

I mean about Guru Har Rai Ji hunting etc.

On a side note, the entire Fauj that had to eat their horses weren't Sikhs and went to hell huh?

By all means somebody else make a new account and chime in on this duplicate, supposedly closed topic. Preferably ignore anyone not echoing your "going to hell" mantra and chop up some Beautiful Bani out of context and then rest on your laurels smug knowing you're the only true sikh.

The above gurbani quotes show a Sikh cannot eat meat. Sab sikhan Ko hukham hai guru maniyo Granth.

Even in shabad

the last pangti is

Forsaking these delicacies, one becomes a true Sannyaasee, a detached hermit. Nanak reflects and speaks. ||2||

So Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji gives only one direction in terms of eating meat, that is you can't.

veer ji, ik you are smart enough to know the difference between an helpless situation and eating meat out of choice, so why do you bring that up?

As for Guru Har Rai ji hunting etc, it's obviously not in SGGS. The huntings are recorded in Twarikh Guru Khalsa and also in Dasam Granth.

Those y'all saying that Guru's army ate meat during the bad times,etc....There is no evidence for that and some manmukhs are doing false ਪਰਚਾਰ;

Coming to the next point Gurus who did hunt animals was to bless them with mukti and no hukam was given by satgur to the fauj to eat its flesh;

That there was some of give and take account which needed to be settled that's why they met their fate;

And don't waste your time arguing about meat eating etc. do simran instead?

WJKK WJKF !

If one sees Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji as Guru, there is no debate or argument. Its clear, a gursikh can't eat meat.

Yet for those who Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is not #1, they can believe whatever they want.

All four gurbani tuks are very clear, straightforward and easy to understand.

A gursikh of Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji has been informed by his Guru not to eat meat.

    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
    • Good way of putting it, bro. One of the ongoing themes of Gurbani is the fake saint. Whether it's fake babas in Punjab or English-speaking personalities in the West, it's an continuing problem of religion through the centuries (and it's not exclusive to us by any means, this applies to all human societies).
