so frustrated and depressed (can’t do simran)

About a few months before pahul my nitnem was chardikala Panj granthi added and other baniyan maharaj kirpa.

after Amrit and drirr I could really feel the difference, Saas Saas simran was happening a couple days after and I would wake up in the middle of the night and just automatically doing simran.

well I had the flipping cold and just a couple of days after Amrit sanchar (last Saturday, got the flu on Monday) I was just such a Manmukh that I stopped doing the Hukam of 2 hours simran and cut it down to 45 mins and cut my nitnem down to 5 baniyan.

now my flu has gone but I can’t concentrate for even 10 mins without looking at my phone to see what time it is. My Saas Saas simran has gone and kaam has kicked in. I was so depressed and frustrated with this morning simran that I just couldn’t concentrate. I’ve lost the little experiences I would have after a couple of days from sanchar and drirr.

kaam dreams have kicked in after simran, my mind won’t concentrate. This morning I did around 40 mins of simran (20 mins was focused the rest was just mind wondering) then I did my nitnem that I used to do before.

it seems like I’ve lost that chardikala with naam, please help me get it back!!!!!

What about just believing in God and doing good deeds?

Why the need to do all these extra prayers. Surely that time would be more beneficial if you were helping the needy. Instead of spending all that time praying? Which is not really helping anyone.

Errrmmm I do the help the needy in any way I can. Daswand to Charities, going out with Langar seva etc, I’ve spent time volunteering as well just last week I know it’s not major change and it’s nothing really but I do try to balance. But Amritvela is for guru ji lol that’s the only way we’re going to get Mukat.

Can’t remember the pangti but guru ji says that giving to charities, good deeds are worth nothing if you don’t have naam. Also mentioned in Maskeen jis book karam philosophy and naam da heera.

Any help on the topic mentioned would be appreciated.

One bunch of detached from reality fudhus advising another bunch of detached from reality fudhus. I hope we have a jungh where apnay are facing actual annihilation, so that fudhus like this can put their buckwaas into real perspective.

Well that is good to know 1Anonymous1. At least your actually do stuff that will make a big difference to peoples lifes by voulunteering ect. That is the way to be and have the right balance of meditation, prayer and physical acts of seva. I have unfortunatley come across some who spend all their time praying without actually doing anything good in terms of physical seva and charity. Praying can benefit one but charirty will help 100's.

As for certain scummy people on here who have nothing better to do instead of butting into other peoples conversations and jumping to conclusions. Proper low lifes...nuff said.

Keep doing paath.  There is nothing more beneficial than doing paath.  @Big_Tera is an atheist.  Had he read Gurbani he would know compassion comes from Naam.  Human suffering exist because there is lack of Naam in there lives.  Charity gives atheist like @Big_Tera Hankar.  If he had compassion, he would understand how important simran of Vaheguru is.   To help with your problem.  Do more paath in isolation and contemplate over the paath.  Stop watching tv/social media and even going out.  Sit in a room and do paath.  Do your regular chores like school/work, helping around the house etc and speak very little.  Keep your focus on the shabads you are reading throughout the day.   Seva is only accepted if the mind is focused on Vaheguru.   There is no good in telling others paath is less beneficial than charity.  Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji begins by describing and praising God and then says jup/remember.   Had @Big_Terathe atheist, read Jap ji Sahib he would not speak against remembering Vaheguru.

Just relax let go and do it.

Exercise is important, healthy body equals a healthy mind. If u dont have motivation then go to a yoga class.

Dont do naam simran in a rigid way, free your mind of culture and rituals. Naam is truth. Truth is everywhere everyone and everything. It is the universe and beyond. We are not constrained by bulls*it punjabi culture and rituals, external dress etc.

We are FREE. So free, so free yourself.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
