mob attacks gurdwara Nankana Sahib

To get a full understanding of the recent events regarding the attack on Nankana Sahib, you need to have look at the ground reality in Pakistan.

You have 4 entities at play in Pakistan which are the Government, ISI, Mullas and the Public.  The present Government has shown an willingness to accommodate Sikhs in Pakistan and have gone above and beyond of what is expected of them with their hospitality.  The ISI has no interest in rocking the boat with Sikhs as there stand is ‘whoever is a enemy of India is a friend of Pakistan’.  The Mullas are at war with the Government of Pakistan and are pushing to overthrow and replace it with a Sharia Islamic leadership.  The public is stuck somewhere in the middle and pick sides according to their own circumstances.

This leads to the question who is responsible for the attack on Nankana Sahib and Sikhs?  The Government of Pakistan has no reason to back the people who did this, as the propaganda machine in India would exploit this situation to destroy any good relationships the Sikhs are building with Muslims in Pakistan.  The ISI gain nothing from this as again this would leave India in a stronger position.  The Mullas would benefit from anything that will destabilise the Pakistan Government and anything that would drive away the minorities from Pakistan.  The public on the other hand is no different to anywhere else in the world where isolated incidents can happen and people can be manipulated to do such things.

People need to be calm and rational and remember, any incidents that happen in Pakistan against Sikhs are not Initiated by the Government of Pakistan or are these over represented against Sikhs in Pakistan.  On the other side of the border in East Punjab there is a completely different story where attacks on Sikhs and their property is the norm and is backed and initiated from the Hindu Government.

us non muslims are the non believers and disbelievers

Those who believe, fight in the cause of Allah, and those who disbelieve, fight in the cause of Satan. So fight you against the friends of Satan. Ever feeble indeed is the plot of Satan.

— Quran, [Quran 4:76]

And slay them wherever ye find them, and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution is worse than slaughter... and fight them until fitnah is no more, and religion is for Allah.
— Quran 2:191

Fight those who believe not in Allah or the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which has been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the Religion of Truth, from among the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission and are subdued.

— Quran, [Quran 9:29]

And a declaration should be made from Allah and His Messenger to these people on the day of the great Hajj that Allah is free from [all] obligations to these Idolaters and so is His Messenger. So if you [O Idolaters!] repent, it is better for you, but if you turn away, then know that you cannot escape from the grasp of Allah. And give tidings [O Muhammad] of a painful torment to these disbelievers. Except those of these Idolaters with whom you have a treaty, and who have not shown treachery in it nor have supported anyone against you. So fulfil their treaty to the end of their term. Indeed, Allah loves those who abide by the limits. Then when the sacred months [after the Hajj] have passed, kill these Idolaters wherever you find them, and capture them and besiege them, and lie in wait for them in each and every ambush. But if they repent and establish the prayer, and give Zakah, then leave them alone. Indeed, Allah is Ever-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

— Quran, [Quran 9:3]

  • Ali:
221Do not marry unbelieving women (idolaters), until they believe: A slave woman who believes is better than an unbelieving woman, even though she allures you. Nor marry (your girls) to unbelievers until they believe: A man slave who believes is better than an unbeliever, even though he allures you. Unbelievers do (but) beckon you to the Fire. But Allah beckons by His Grace to the Garden (of bliss) and forgiveness, and makes His Signs clear to mankind: That they may celebrate His praise.
  • Pickthall:
221Wed not idolatresses till they believe; for lo! a believing bondwoman is better than an idolatress though she please you; and give not your daughters in marriage to idolaters till they believe, for lo! a believing slave is better than an idolater though he please you. These invite unto the Fire, and Allah inviteth unto the Garden, and unto forgiveness by His grace, and expoundeth His revelations to mankind that haply they may remember.
    • Original:
    • The Qur'an (القرآن), Sura 2:221 (The Calf, سورة البقرة‎)

The Day of Judgement will not come about until Muslims fight the Jews, when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Muslims, O Abdullah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Only the Gharkad tree, (the Boxthorn tree) would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews. (related by al-Bukhari and Muslim).Sahih Muslim, 41:6985, see also Sahih Muslim, 41:6981, Sahih Muslim, 41:6982, Sahih Muslim, 41:6983, Sahih Muslim, 41:6984, Sahih al-Bukhari, 4:56:791,(Sahih al-Bukhari, 4:52:177)

O Prophet! Strive against the disbelievers and the hypocrites! Be harsh with them. Their ultimate abode is hell, a hapless journey's end. They swear by Allah that they said nothing (wrong), yet they did say the word of disbelief, and did disbelieve after their Surrender (to Allah). And they purposed that which they could not attain, and they sought revenge only that Allah by His messenger should enrich them of His bounty. If they repent it will be better for them; and if they turn away, Allah will afflict them with a painful doom in the world and the Hereafter, and they have no protecting friend nor helper in the earth.

Qur'an 9:73-74

Narrated Ikrima: Ali burnt some people and this news reached Ibn 'Abbas, who said, "Had I been in his place I would not have burnt them, as the Prophet said, 'Don't punish (anybody) with Allah's Punishment.' No doubt, I would have killed them, for the Prophet said, 'If somebody (a Muslim) discards his religion, kill him.' "

If it had been Our will, We should have elevated him with Our signs; but he inclined to the earth, and followed his own vain desires. His similitude is that of a dog: if you attack him, he lolls out his tongue, or if you leave him alone, he (still) lolls out his tongue. That is the similitude of those who reject Our signs; So relate the story; perchance they may reflect.

Verily those who believe not, among those who have received the scriptures, and among the idolaters, [shall be cast] into the fire of hell, to remain therein [for ever]. These are the worst of creatures.

O ye who believe! Take not for friends unbelievers rather than believers: Do ye wish to offer Allah an open proof against yourselves?

Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.

Narrated Ibn 'Umar: Allah's Apostle said: "I have been ordered (by Allah) to fight against the people until they testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that Muhammad is Allah's Apostle, and offer the prayers perfectly and give the obligatory charity, so if they perform that, then they save their lives and property from me except for Islamic laws and then their reckoning (accounts) will be done by Allah."

Thanx for this information.

Feel so lucky to be a sikh.

Quran is zero compared to Gurbani.

Muslims might believe in one God but their understanding of the Supreme Being is very weak.

They also have no understanding of reincarnation.

They have no clue about the existence and life of Sachkhand.

Pakistan started becoming very islamic some point in the 70s  by the 80s it was a completely unrecognisable country to what it was during partition. Remember most Pakistanis are just punjabis and sindhis.  In the 60s mullahs used to be laughed at in the streets.  There are videos of old pakistanis talking about how modern and amazing cities like lahore and Rawalpindi were before partition.  Pakistan in the 50s and 60s was identical to our punjab, the people were just regular punjabis and sindhis.    In fact there are some very remote desert areas in sindh where muslims and hindus inter marry and muslims worship devi    but the last few years mullahs have been going to these remote areas and islamisized them.

I recommend watching the movie khamoshi paani/silent waters   really good movie about the islamicization of people in Pakistan by the mullahs. It's a Pakistani movie.

Meanwhile Indian Muslim leaders laugh off this attack on Sri Nankana Sahib and say this is not an issue while we Sikhs in the thousands are showing Indian Muslims support by protesting the CAA and NRC bills in India. The biggest retards are the Sikhs who comment on the videos that RSS must be behind this attack!

fully agree!

Interesting happenings in Pakistan.

Probably need to have some insights into Pakistani society particularly in regards to a non muslim presence in their Islamic paradise.

Pakistan was made for muslims and only muslims for Dar Ul Salam and having kafir places of worship and facilities developed must foster a lot of resentment for sections of Pakistani society.

Firstly I have no idea as to how many Sikhs live in Pakistan but I imagine it is fairly miniscule and for most of the muslims there, it is quite manageable to have a very tiny Sikh presence there.

However, now with the increase of pilgrims in Nankana Sahib, Lahore and now Kartarpur,  the presence of Sikhs is probably very worrisome to some of the Abduls and Ayeshas.

I can imagine that one of the greatest fears of some muslims in Pakistan is the comeback of Sikhs particularly after partition . In the back of their minds, they were very fearful of Sikhs invading and demanding their lands back. (I am looking at this from a Pakistani Muslim perspective )

Pakistani muslims have no qualms about going into Kashmir and carrying out their Ghazwa E Hind but I think some of them are realising that the Ghazwa E Hind may actually be right on their doorstep and that they fear their Dar Ul Salam may become Dar Ul Harb.

There will be more friction from certain segments of Pakistan society (particularly the Ulema types) about why the Pakistani Government and their elites spending lots of money on Gurdwaras and roads for Kafirs and those Zalims and not on more Madrassas.

I think this reason why that Group is looking for 500 million dollars from the Sangat.

The Business Classes of Pakistan are probably very pleased with the increased Sikh presence because they know Sikhs are big spenders and will boost some of their economy.

There are divisions there and this needs to be more explored and we as Sikhs need to understand what this is leading to and how we should respond or what kind of pre-emptive measures we should take.

I don't think they are worried about Sikh taking over. They are actually very aggressively promoting religious tourism among Sikhs as that can be very beneficial for their economy.

Plus they have befriended Khalistanis. Their political religious organisations like Jamat e Islami has also promoted closer ties with Khalistani Sikhs since the 80s. ISI, Pakistani army is also doing its best to neutralize Sikhs. They want Sikhs to either be on their side or be neutral when they start their Ghazwa against the Hindus.

There are how ever a few people like Khadim Rizvi a Barelvi preacher who for some reason is very hostile towards Pakistani espablishment trying to befriend Sikhs.

The Elites and the establishment probably don't feel threatened and maybe not the main Islamic institutions but some parts of Pakistani society could possibly feel a lot of concessions being made.

In a lot of cases from understanding human nature. When one concedes on one thing, it can lead to another concession and then another.

Here is another scenario. What happens when Sikhs go in greater numbers and greater frequency that they would like to invest in Pakistan (like buy land and property ) . How would that be taken by the locals?

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
