You are correct.

Naam Simran helps because there is science now that suggests that it can help with trauma as it helps with the nervous system.

But if it is combined with some counselling (like talking to someone), it will help far more.

For someone at rock bottom, even faux concern or help with vested interests doesn't seem so objectionable. To a rational, "normal" person it seems insulting, but for someone desperately seeking some understanding and kinship it's the difference between offing yourself due to loneliness or alienation, or suddenly feeling as if life is worth enduring.

true    and like mentioned above  know one tells you how to do naam simran   and how it will help    and about having faith.  person who is is struggling needs that reassurance       

there also is a lack of emotion connection and sympathy,  when they tell you to do simran and bani and everything will be ok   they sound like robots       

in india   a lot of these religious people are arrogant and rude as well.

another thing and the main thing is that christian missionaries are actively out there with the motive of converting people, their aim is to convert as many people as they can, that is their main aim,   with sikhs and hindus etc  that is not our motive.  this makes a big difference. one group is out there actively with the aim of conversion while the other is not.    with one group with the given task of trying to convert as many people as they can and however they can VS a group with no interest in converting,  then the "winner"  is obvious.

faiths like Christianity in india are predatory  they are the chasers    while faiths like sikh, hindu etc  are the prey     if that makes sense lol

This is very true, but you have to have a positive experience early on, or stick through it for a bit and keep at it to benefit long term.  

It is undeniably cognitively rejuvenating, but when real, tangible crap is at your door like lack of food, serious sickness, feeling trapped in an abusive relationship it's easy for people to become detached from everything and get trapped in some emotional cycles that seem unbreakable. That's one way simran can help big time, disrupting those thought waves, and the better you get at it, the more distance you can put between the thought waves and your true self. 

From a psychological/neurobiological perspective this is all very high level - most people won't get that.
