ndira was Gangu Brahmin's descendent and her father never let her forget it that is why she pushed green revolution hardest in Punjab , she knew what would happen because her scientific advisors were able to tell her how it would deplete the soil, poison the water table.

Allow Guru di dharti to be used for chemical processing  without legislation and checks and measures being introduced that they will not poison water supplies .

Our lot could've used their brains a bit more too. They just seemed to have gone along with it without questioning it. Then we have that culture of one-upmanship which makes people blow the money that they do make on very ostentatious displays of status.

We have a bunch of agricultural universities in Panjab. Why don't they come up with solutions? Where is the innovation and investment in the economy? It just seems like foolish shortsightedness to me.  It isn't worth blaming the center like children, they've never ever helped, but that didn't stop our ancestors from prospering and creating a strong nation.

Look at Israel, in the middle of a desert, yet they had enough brains to use tech to maximise certain crop output by finding the minimal amount of input of water because it is a scarce resource there. They studied cannabinoids, and are on track to produce a new generation of meds from it.

People from back home don't have that culture of pushing the limits of gian that is a requisite for innovation. They generally don't like studying /education unless they feel like there is some guarantee of employment afterwards. How realistic is that? There is a ridiculous sense of entitlement by many. Then all the corruption and nepotism that takes place just undermines any progression.

Right now, apnay back home are hemorrhaging what wealth they do have on getting out, and even then it's to work in manual labour jobs.  This is all the fault of the people governing Panjab itself - who are voted in by apnay. You know a society needs astute business men and innovators to prosper and develop or it just stays stagnant and then goes backwards. There are some things that the 'kurta-pajama wallay' are crap at, we should realise that, and so should they. There does seem to be a cultural backwardness going on there. The fact that many people still treat others like pariahs in villages over caste in the 21st century just shows you how petty minded and backwards they are. And then you get people out here in the west who excuse that away because the truth hurts their caste 'pride'. That's the level of stupidity going on.  It's staggering.

Israel was basically made by the USA lol  they needed an ally in the middle east.  It's nothing but a american puppet.

Punjab has plenty of ideas   some farmers are now making YouTube channels to share ideas of new methods etc     problem is there is no cooperation from the governments   neither central nor state.  People in that country are hopeless because of the people in power.    BJP is a pile of poo   their only game is using the hindu faith    that is gnna eventually get repetitive and the effect will fizzle out and people will dump the party.

People got tired of akalis not doing anything so they voted Congress   what has congress done? Nothing     what are they supposed to do now ...      situation is hopeless.

Still I would say standard of living in punjab is much much better than other parts of india.  Mainly thanks to nris who are contributing towards better living standards in the pinds.  Making benches, street lights, parks for kids etc.

In maharashtra I saw kids sh1tting on the streets and running around naked, never seen so many malnourished people!  Lots of skinny sick looking people everywhere  begging,   same with madhya Pradesh!

While going through delhi in the train , the train went right past a massive slum,  it was never ending like a town,  kids running all over the train tracks, just little huts made out of scrap everywhere, never seen anything like it.   When the train drove past aurangabad  it went right through a massive slum  with the hindu slum on one side and muslim on the other,  there were big fat pigs running around everywhere. Naked kids running everywhere.  So much poverty out there ...

My parents were saying the same thing, they were saying we're always complaining about punjab but these people have nothing.

Karnataka was the same

The amount of of poverty and suffering you see outside of pubjab is the sort of stuff the stays with you for a very long time, you just cant forget the stuff you see   the poverty there is really bad.

Trust me living standard in punjab is much better than many other parts of india. Delhi is sh1t aswell, chaos everywhere   with so much pollution   horrible place.

himachal pradesh though was better than punjab ...   air was fresh  people were healthy and tall like punjabis,   no rubbish on the floor. It's a nice place   a lot more cleaner than punjab.

They need to do something about plastic bags and bottles everywhere on the streets in punjab.  I think they've banned plastic bags now ...

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
