Can you pls summarize what he said...it long video

Yeah true. That's why I downloaded Facebook video download app and watched the video at 2× the speed.

Well basically Gurpreet Singh California has raised the very same points that we read from proactive jees posts on Khalsa Aid. Gurpreet Singh says how in the name of helping Shaheed Parivaars he gets Sikhs to fund his organization. But very little of that money actually goes to help Shaheed Parivaars at all. These Shaheed Parivaars are living in poverty since their son became Shaheed.

Then Khalsa Aid claims they have made Sikh schools in Jammu and other places. But when he and others went to those schools in India to enquire about this he found out no such help has happened and it is basically a fraud.

In the end his message was that Sikhs should spend their hard earned money on Shaheed Parivars, Parcharks, poor Sikhs as that is the hukam of Guru Gobind Singh ji.

So is it wrong to give money to som1 who looks like a druggy or alcoholic? Like in the high street you get people looking like druggies approaching you for some change. Most of the time I feel sorry and give them some change. Most homeless people just buy a can of beer with it.  Last week i was walking home and a European boy who looked like a druggy asked me for change and I gave him around 1pound    further down I saw him asking som1 else for money.

The criticism seems to be getting to him now, before he just had to block anyone asking inconvenient questions but now that the criticism has grown so much he has to justify himself and his charity.

Although he is saying that Khalsa Aid is paying pensions to the Shaheed Parivaars but according to his 2019 financial report to the charity commission it states -;

"Welfare Support Panjab, India
This project has been extended to those families that have been adversely affected by the conflicts in Panjab during the 1980's. Over 250 disadvantaged families are currently being provided monthly welfare support. Most of these families are 'sponsored' by individuals across the UK, these sponsors are encouraged to make direct contact with their sponsored family and many have visited their sponsored families when they visit India. A great deal of work is needed to develop this project further. The identification and assessment of the affected families is time consuming and challenging. Families are often vulnerable and hesitant to come forward. In order to ensure charitable funds are utilised in an effective and efficient manner, criteria and assessment procedures have been established. This will enable greater consistency and transparency in this project. This project in Panjab will continue for the foreseeable future; Khalsa Aid International will continue to provide assistance to those most in need. The process of identifying disadvantaged families affected by the events of 1984 continues. This project requires continued resources and manpower to ensure deadlines are met and operational procedures are developed and followed. A managing director has been appointed to oversee operations and development across India. The team in India currently consists of 20 members of staff. This will result in greater expenditure and investment in India from Khalsa Aid International in the coming years."

So it looks like Khalsa Aid is not directly aiding these families but acting as a go-between to facilitate sponsors from abroad to help these families. That's not what Ravi Singh says in the video.

Also interestingly the total expenditure in India up to 2019 was £266,465 but that is not broken down at all and there is no figure for KA's funding of the pensions to Shaheed Parivaars. There is nothing wrong with acting as a facilitator for sponsorship of these families but surely if he 203 families sponsored by Sikhs abroad then why can't KA sponsor another 203 as a matching initiative?

I think people who don't like Khalsa Aid's brand or style of sewa should make their own organisation and set the right example for Khalsa Aid to follow. Gurpreet California Singh seems very arrogant to me personally going by his speech, and the fact that he's addressing Ravi Singh as if he's talking about a school boy. I'd be happy if he can set the right example and eat into Khalsa Aid's share of donation even, because he's focussing on Punjabi/Kharkoo families.

If one wants to do sewa for somebody, they should do it themselves. Why would you expect someone else to change their sewa/working as per your wish, while you sit on your bum doing nukhtachini? It's simple really.

I think that once Ravi Singh get's bought down to Earth from his lofty pedestal then this will be the end of his type of charities among Sikhs. It will  be just Sikhs helping in Punjab through donations collected via family and friends circles.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
