With the corona virus lock down. We all know the amount of hardship and suffering people we will go through due to amount of victims of the Virus. But could their be any benefits from this global pandemic? Usually many people are so busy in their lifes with working, travelling, socialising and doing all kinds of activities to keep their minds occupied. Such as gym, pub, clubs you name it. But now comes a unique juncture in peoples lifes a unique opportunity to look back on their lfes and look forward.  They now have so much time to do important things that they could never do before. They actually have time to reflect on their lifes and think about their direction in life. Ie what is really important and what is not.

Positives out of corona I can think of

A time to rest and recupirate

time to spend on new goals. such as learning  a new language or doing an online course.

We are no longer in the rat race. But can breathe a little more. Less wrok stress and more time sit back, enjoy our gardens and get back to nature. I have visited a few nature spots and it was good to be able to do things like this.

Any other benefits of the lock down?

I agree its mother natures/God's will for whatever happens, we can't control it or accurately predict what the future may-hold.

For me these maybe the possible positive outcomes, others may not see it this way are:

  1. Sikhs will learn to rely on each other and help each other. And be less tolerant of arrogant self promoting Sikhs who giving away sangat's hard earned money donations, food and aid to non-believers outside of guru's home and guru's kitchen. The sangat will come down on them like a tonne of bricks to stop their madness soon enough or just not donate to them.
  2. More people will turn to God and learn about and convert to sikhi. Liberal no IQ Sikhs will start to come back to the faith. Others with some intelligence will use their time to learn about Sikh faith and history read up on important aspects of Sikhi they may have misjudged or not understood before.
  3. Hardship will make Sikhs more eager to defend Sikhi and less tolerant of aggressors like in 1980s/90s
  4. House prices will come down eventually meaning they will start to become affordable for first time buyers
  5. During the lock down or periods of unemployment we can use our time more time to better educate ourselves
  6. There's less pollution in the skies and rivers now that less people are out and about in heavy industries.
  7. The rich and poor are in the same boat this virus has shown it doesn't discriminate nations, ethnicity, religions, wealth, etc. It has leveled everyone to the same level of having to stay indoors unless they an essential worker
